Hi got a bit of an issue with my clio and the rear brakes locking up. Its a cup race car so it doesnt run any of the standard brake lines or ABS. it has a braiding line run inside with a compbrake bias valve installed on it. but even with this fully would out to reduce pressue the rears still...
Haha nice try but its staying firmly in the car, its a key component. without it the car simply isnt competitive.
Yep thats all i need aswell, already have the other parts.
Yozza sport sell them, or you can buy them from renault sport. but there over £100 iirc thats why im looking for some used ones. as ill be taking moulds of them to makes up some spares.
Ive seen some ratty ones for as low as 7k, there was one on piston heads a few weeks ago for 8-9k. but as most have now been upgraded now with more powerful engines, better brakes etc they can go for more. mines kitted out for rallying so i payed a little more than the average but im happy with...
I see what you are saying and its a fair point. it does actually have a VIN number rivited to the shell along with the renault VIN stickers on the doors. But it's been permanantly exported, so how its been registered in UK is irrelvant now. I will be registering it 100% correct over here as a...
cheers for your replies. yep it still has the bilstein coilovers so ill send ill be sending it for alingment somtime soon then :). would be stupidly hard as you say. but luckily they have changeable inserts so some softer ones have been fitted. along with some dampening adjustable units on the...
Anyway moving on.. I fitted the sparco ADV seat to the car today, and tried to straighten the bonnet out a bit.
The corbeau that was already in it only weighed 6.4kgs my ADV is 10kgs. I dont usually like adding weight but the ADV is one of the few seats i find comfortable and has the added...
Well its a fair wack faster than a normal 172 thats for sure. clears the box fast and tops out at around 120-125mph. The gearbox really makes the car. being able to change gear, pinned without the clutch makes a huge difference to the speed. and you can downshift without the clutch too. but ill...
Yeah i bought it off the owner of Edumuds exhuast as you can see by the stickers. was a really nice chap. even rang me a few days later to see if i got home ok.
This is exactly the case, a hell of alot easier then putting it through an SVA test. it has the proper renault VIN stickers in the...
It was reshelled using a renualt sport shell while it was racing if ive got my facts rite. so it was still LHD they had to be for the series. this was conveted to RHD in 2008 by the previous owner when it was converted for rally use and made road legal.
Ive recently acquired a cup race car but its now being used for rallying so the 3.5 degrees of camber it has is a bit excessive. Is it just a matter of loosening the bolts on the struts and pulling the hub outwards? or am i going to need camber bolts? or am i just stuck with the crazy amount of...
Yep all clio cup cars where LHD but as you can see this one has been converted to RHD suits me much better.
And yeah clio cup cars did use standard brakes but they just werent good enough for rallying so the guy i bought it off had the Hispec 300mm kit put on it. They are overkill for sure, so...
Thought id post up the ex clio cup car i have recently purchased. Its number 007, ex tcr car i think. If anyone knows anything more about this car please feel free to let me know. I also need to get hold of some spares too, like drive shafts, whishbones, wheels etc. oh and also some brake ducts...
4 pots are a waste of time imo, my ex clio cup race car has had a 300m hi spec 4 pot kit fitted to it and there just to powerfull. so much that on the super soft dunlop cr311 rally slicks it lifts the rear wheels. I didnt know this till tonight, when it went sideways on me under breaking piling...
Right bit of a mix up its not the VIN no i need as its a race car and doesnt have one but it should have a serial no. I have spoken to renault sport UK and they said it should be on the left hand floor member.. as i dont have the car to hand it is 200 miles away from me can anyone help me...
Hi im looking into buying a road registered clio cup race car. But as im going to be importing it to another country i need to make sure the chassis number and chassis plate number match up with the ones on the log book. Can anyone tell me where both the chassis number (stamped in) and chassis...
Hi, im looking into buying a clio cup race car ive seen advertised forsale and am close to putting a deposit on it. But id like to find out where i could get some spares from ie: driveshafts, whishbones, wheels etc. would prefer some good condtion second hand stuff, as the price of new stuff on...
cheers for that info.
went to the renault dealership today i got a price for everything i needed. on one issue though it lists 2 different bumpers for the phase 1 172. is there actually and difference in bumpers in the phase 1 172's, or are they just getting the phase 1 and phase 2 clios mixed up.
hi. im in the middle of fixing my mk2 1.416v clio after crashing into a tree. ive got a new bonnet and slam pannel and all the other bits a bobs. all i need now is a front bumper and 2 wings. so i was thinking of putting the 172 front end on it to smarten it up abit while im there. is all im...
