reducing camber on cup race car

Ive recently acquired a cup race car but its now being used for rallying so the 3.5 degrees of camber it has is a bit excessive. Is it just a matter of loosening the bolts on the struts and pulling the hub outwards? or am i going to need camber bolts? or am i just stuck with the crazy amount of camber.. lol

Hi Mike, If you've bought the car for track use then i'd stick with the 3.5 degrees of negative camber, but if you want it for mainly use on the road then reducing camber would be useful ;)

If the top hole on the dampers is sloted then you'll be able to adjust it fine using the method you mentioned above (push the hub in though rather than out), if not then just remove the damper and slot the hole yourself

I'd be interested to hear how much paid for the cup racer if you want to divulge ;) pm me if you'd rather not put on the forum.

If you have the Bilstein's that come on a cup racer, the hole is slotted and you need to pull the top of the hub OUT, not in. Dont just guess though, make sure the car is spot on level and get a camber gauge.

The Bilsteins will be MEGA hard for rally though!

cheers for your replies. yep it still has the bilstein coilovers so ill send ill be sending it for alingment somtime soon then :). would be stupidly hard as you say. but luckily they have changeable inserts so some softer ones have been fitted. along with some dampening adjustable units on the back. It will be getting something a it more suited in the future, but for now its works well enough. just need to reduce that camber for a bit more front end grip on tight corners.
