Pretty sure the flanges are different sizes.

Cup bearings are 40x84x38
Non Cup are 37x72x37
So 1mm difference in internal diameter.
Hopefully Jon can recommend a decent one.
Some of the cars I look after I could do without jacking up to do oil changes. The oil filter is from the top, so would make everything easier.
Depends if they're being powdercoated or sprayed really.
If sprayed, you should ideally wait a few days. Although it probably wouldn't harm them coating a day or so after.
Just make sure you give them a wipe down with panel wipe to remove any surface oils.

Took them out after it had happened and it fixed the binding issue, but obviously the damage was already done.
I've never run the shims with previous track pads and i can safely say i won't be again 😂

Put some new CL RC6's in but left the anti-rattle shims in from my oem road pads... I knew this was a bad idea but still did it 🤬
