In all seriousness, can you clarify the point you are making? Are you saying that a 1*2 is a better car than an R32?
I apologise to the OP, gone hugely off topic. If anything I'm just jealous you've got an R and I've not.
I'm not interested in numbers. I've owned both cars and I'm going off my own experiences. Although those are probably based on book power figures, which we know Clio's normally never get anywere near.
I too once thought my 182 was the fastest thing on the planet. You realise they aren't. Like I...
Point to point? So are we talking twisties now? Can't see there being much in it. Doesn't 'handle' as well as my old 182, but the grip is pretty impressive. Would be no faster than a 1*2, but it would certainly keep with it. I loved my old 182, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat. But as an overall...
Oh I forgot about the monumental torque the F4R produces. Both R32/R have more power and more torque. More weight aswell but still, I'd be willing to gamble im 99.9% of situations either of them is quicker than a 1*2.
Anyway I'll stop spamming this thread, Golf Rs are epic. 1*2s aren't too bad...
Depends who is looking at it. Anyone with an interest can tell a GTi a mile off.
People who don't know anything about cars will think it's just a Golf, as they will an ST to a Focus etc. I love the fact most people will think I'm driving a diesel Golf...until I give them some noise that is.
No not the looks. Just think the GTi should remain as subtle as possible, its what I love about them. Not to say it sounds bad, just a personal preferance.
Anyone who rides a bike is b*llend. Simple fact. Every single superbike I've ever come across is being riden by some absolute hero who think he is invincible. And they wonder why they are always involved in crashes.
Completely off topic but I love around a 1/4 of a mile away from the entrance...
Yup. Still alot of money but not the end of the world I suppose. I also asked VW to health check the car while it was there and everything has come back perfect, which is some good documentation to help with the sale.
VW wanted £85 for an oil filter ffs.
Whilst I was maybe a bit harsh, I was atleast truthful.
Especially know I've seen the blue wheels, It is very chavtastic. Although having said that it is atleast better than the works van I'm currently driving.
I've just rung VW to tell them to log todays date of booking if they haven't already. Being that today's date is bang on 6 months and it broke last night, said dealer is clearly going to do his best to negate any responsibility.
Cheers dave that's very useful. Just got in contact with the dealer who says I had 3 months and isn't really interested in what else I've got to say. Complete ballache.
It's being diagnosed by VW tomorrow so then I can take it from there.
I bought the car on the 23rd of March, meaning today is 6months. Is there any mileage in getting in contact with the dealer and seeing what he has to say?
Looks like mechatronic unit going off the symptoms, £1200 or so job at VW without a contribution because going off the forums, is a known fault.
If somebody puts £9000 in my hand they can take it tomorrow.
I'm about to order a 5s, either with o2 or anyone who is cheaper. Would people recommend I get it on a 4G contract? Bearing in mind I use the internet for facebook, sky sports and sky news, and the odd check on the web. Cheers.
