That's the point I was making earlier. But there are also some very fast ABF turbo'd vag engines. Lets be honest they make good engines so my original statement that a 1.8T MKII (for example) would make a decent alternative to putting a £3000 turbo'd F4R engine in a Clio is a valid statement...
Seriously? The BAM lump isn't any better? There are way more high power audi and vw's in the tuning world than Clio's due to the tunability of the lump and its reliability. 300bhp is reached fairly easily and I know people running over 400bhp+ on them. :nono::nono:
Phil the adjusters did seize but I never tried to move them for three years so I expect they would. They are still on the car now as it was up for sale again last week on ebay.
I had a set of V2's on my old MKII Golf, the car handled really well on them, I had them on max damping on the front so was a bit stiff on bumpy road but did over 3000 miles round europe on them, a track day at brands and probably 20k plus miles in this country.
MK2 GTI with a 1.8T in it with 250 bhp for under £3k easily. I can find you about 5 for sale on VW" forums. Track tryes and off you go. As for the 205GTI similar stories, or check piston geads classifieds for 'track' cars under 5k there is alot of choice.
I bought the 172 exactly because its...
Type R, Scooby, Westy, Caterham, MKII GTI with any engine you want, 205GTI, tuned MX5, Sunny GTIR the list is massive. The scooby may be over weight but the rest are not that eavy, can produce great bhp and are under £5000 to buy.
Surely if you factored into the value of your car + £3000 thats one hell of a fast car that can be purchased for say £5000. I'm the same as you Dan I want a faster car but throwing my money at a W plated Clio makes no sense to me. But hey I've a few more years on you and at the end of the day...
The seats are absolutly spot on, done a day at LLandow and a day at Donington and its so nice not having to hang onto the seat as well as the steering wheel. Also found them alot easier to fit then it was to remove the old PH1 seats. Not sure I have any pics of them in the car yet I'll have to...
Good job Rob, watched the TV footage and you looked like you were having alot of fun. Looks like your cars got some legs on it as well, loved the overtake into paddock hill with the commentator saying you might get a place and you went inside both the cars having their own battle (think it was...
Guys I have some how contracted spyware on my HTC one X. I deleted all recently installed apps and rana virus scan but I can't seem to remove it. Any suggestions of how to take it off? To summarise what's happening I keep getting messages and offers of games etc and I have even had an app...
Guys if you want good servers play on the 'Pathfinder servers' I admin them and we have 6. You'll only get kicked for spawn raping or being a tw*t, racism will see you banned but apart from that we are a friendly bunch and I prefer to play then admin.
Agreed Si, I want to know which springs are better. I would like the car a bit lower (not alot) but definatly a bit stiffer to reduce body roll. I looked into coilovers but for the expense and what the car is for its just not worth it.
