Hi all,
I have a Clio 182 without an alarm, and I wondered what the part number is for the alarm system should I decide to have one fitted.
Are they easy to fit? If not, how long would a garage charge to fit it roughly?
Thanks
Bit of a thread bump here, but I also notice that my 182 gets filthy at the back very quickly. I've only had it a few weeks so in a weird way it's nice to see that others share my pain :p
What is the average age of people who go to rag their car in Lakeside car park on a Saturday?
I can't help but feel it is something more akin to under 18s.
I had 3 Michelin PE2s on the legal limit and one brand new budget tyre on my car. I just had 4 new Michelin PE2s fitted and the tracking checked (which was slightly out) and my problems seem to be pretty much gone now.
I had 4 new Michelin PE2s fitted today and the tracking done (which was slightly out apparently) and the car is now transformed. It feels completely different and much safer from my first drive in it :)
OOoh, now this has thrown a spanner in the works. I was pretty set on a Milltek cat back but this sounds great, perhaps a LITTLE too loud for me, but only just.
For someone like me who doesn't know what to even check visually, how do I go about making sure mine are ok? The reason ask is that I have been having some odd handling issues as well.
I've used Araldite to glue up the bits which were knocking and it seems slightly improved. But it still sometimes rattles when I hit 6k+ revs, which is really annoying.
I'm sure it's just a case of getting back under there and gluing some more; but can anyone think of anything else which could...
I've not bought them yet, but Kwik Fit are the cheapest and most convenient at the moment at £432. I'm just waiting for a local Renault specialist to get back to me.
PAS pump and fitting - £400 :(
Skoda splitter - £11.97
Silvatec bulbs all round - I think about £15
Osram Night Breakers - £15 or something
Araldite glue to sort out my rattling heatshield - £5
New gear gaiter - £7
Coming up:
4 x Michelin Exaltos + tracking - Circa £450
Milltek exhaust +...
I found changing all bulb (sidelight, main beam, and indicators) to be fairly easy. The only one I struggled with was one of the main beam bulbs because I was trying to reattach the unit the wrong way up.
I actually find it harder putting that damn round rubber cap back over the lighting unit...
Fair enough. I think I'll stick to the 205s for now. I do need new tyres though. I have 3 x PE2s and they are nearing the end of their life, then there is an almost budget tyre on the rear driver side which was there when I bought it.
I'm going Michelins all round so I'll see if that helps.
I did indeed take it to Blackboys. They seem like nice guys down there :)
Ok, some more info on the car:
52k miles
2 front tyres are PE2's which are nearing the legal limit and will be replaced soon. Could they really make that much difference?

Hi all,
I have owned my 182 for about 4 weeks now. It is the only Clio I have ever driven, so unfortunately I have nothing to compare it to.
I have some concerns about the handling/steering on the car. It tramlines quite badly, and feels a little unstable when accelerating or at high...
