Bit of an update on mine. 2 mechanics took it for a drive and they said it feels a little twitchy, but there is nothing wrong with the car, they said this behaviour is normal.
I'm still unsure though, should the wheels follow bumps/camber in the road at all?
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
15 mins trying to get the centre of the splitter screwed into the bumper just by holding it up.
10 mins finally realising it was best to screw the splitter first and then FINALLY attaching the centre of the splitter to the bumper
5 mins trying to line the...
Hi all,
I've been a member for a couple of weeks now and I picked up my first Clio 182 FF just over a week ago now. I'm 24 and I live in East Sussex.
My car history is very light despite driving for over 7 years now. The whole of those 7+ years have been spent in a 1997 Vauxhall Corsa Sport...
I only got my car a little over a week ago and I am experience similar problems. It's the only 182 I've driven so I can't compare, but 'something' doesn't feel right. The car seems to have a mind of it's own and can sometimes steer randomly (probably following the camber or bumps in the road)...
Please excuse my ignorance as I'm a new, but why do people add these seats to daily drivers? They don't look particularly comfortable. Are these other benefits?
I love the standard seats in my 182, they are so comfy.
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
Yeah I think some shorter screws would have actually made it easier.
I'm sure someone in this thread said they did it in 15 mins! They must have just taped it on!
I can't describe how annoyed I was getting :p
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
I fitted mine this evening. I don't know whether it is because I am crap at DIY or because I didn't jack the car up, but it took me nearly 2 hours and my hands are now in agony.
Here are some pictures of the fitting. Please excuse the poor quality, they were...
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
I just picked mine up from Skoda for the sum of £11.78 (or something like that).
I also grabbed a bag of 2.5x20mm self tapping screws on the way back to the office as well.
I may well have a go at fitting it tonight, I hope I don't screw it up!!! (See what I...
I just thought I would update this thread on the off chance that it helps someone else in my position in the future.
I've got it booked in tomorrow to have the PAS pump replaced. I didn't realise that the PAS pump runs off the AUX belt, so I had asked for a quote to replace this, although it...
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
Just ordered mine and will be picking it up on Monday. It's cost about £12 or so :)
How many self tapping screws are needed?
My Clio 182FF buying experience hasn't been great so far, mostly my own fault though to be honest. I'm not a 'car' person, in that I am trying as quick as possible to understand the more mechanical side of things.

A more local garage has quoted £421 with a reconditioned pump, so I've had to go for that as I need it done.
I'm so ****ing annoyed as I bought this car privately on Sunday and didn't notice the problem before :(
I won't be buying private again without taking a proper mechanic with me.
