My mate has one, raced him many times. It was neck and neck in the valver up to 110 then he would pull away very slightly, in the cup however i am quicker.
(i ussume your talking about the mk1)
Yep its known for its handling gremlins, just whack the mk2 setup on it and it will handle alot better.

The difference will be minimal and yes the build quality wont as good as your Honda however the road presence of the V6 is a world of difference compared to the Type R, and the noise and overall performance of the v6 is superb. Also the v6mk2 should hold its value slightly better.
Dont worry, its just a bit of water that has seeped through, will take about 100 miles to clear if not a bit more. Give it a good hard drive to try and clear the system

I have 2 vehicals to drive and works out well. Drive the deisel during the week and the cup at the weekend although the cup is still standard.
I am on the look out at the moment for a 16/w track car as untill im ready to prep the cup i dont want to use it on the track although i have done...
Neil, i think us 172cup owners had/have more of a justification of buying them due to the more weight etc saved where as the 182cup doesnt seem to justify the not alot less expenditure.
Hi Mark, drive the citroen berlingo van during the week as im in work mode and need it for work during the day doing deliveries/collections etc, so unfortunately the Cup is left alone at home gathering dust along with the gti!
However rest assured i give the cup a good stretch on the weekends...
