Thanks Fred. I went for the airfilter as its washable and would save money in the long run. Did those braided lines ever show up? My arb arrived last week at last so might have a try at that this week, Got the jack and stands all set up just need to support the bottom of the suspension with the...
My Whiteline arb turned up the other day, I am looking forward to fitting it but might need some advice first. Concerned if I undo the bolt at the bottom of the struts my struts will fire out like two cannons lol.
Craig it sounds like our mechanical knowledge could go hand in hand, 2 one handed...
My car cost me £650, and I have spent about £400 on it and its been tracked twice already and off to Donington again on the 11th. All in all most pound per smile driving I've had.

Ah well if its the 11th March I'll miss this day as well as I'm at Donington.
I bought a 172 PH1 for £650, new front tyres £100 fitted, new front and rear discs pads and bearings £500 fitted (front pads were £160) job done. Already done Donington and Oulton Park and I'm back to Donington this weekend. I have a rear Whiteline arb to be fitted, have some braided brake lines...
Nice write up and good pictures, close call at Oulton Park I nearly lost it at the same bend two weeks back just came in far too fast and nearly lost it going in. Personally if your going to do alot of track days I'd bin off the sub and rear bench and save the weight as you'll find the car will...
Sounds like the experience I hgad with my first MKII Golf, cost me over £3000 in 18 months keeping it on the road. Was a real nail, my next MKII Golf lasted me for 9 years and never missed a beat. Sadly there are cars out there that are proper fubar and occasioanlly decent people by them and get...
I can't say I remember the 90's being anyway as bleak as times are now. was the noughties where it all went pete tong and it'll be a long time before we are back in a position of comfort again.
Your nearly right, the country was run by clueless wan**rs but Labour are no longer in power. Thanks to them over the last 10 years and Gordon Brown's fantastic job at buggering up our economy, selling off our gold reserves at record low gold prices and generally having no idea what the f**k he...
To say you can fabricate would be like saying a lumberjack cuts down trees. What you are doing there Kenny is an art form and a true pleasure to read about and see in pictures. I wish I had a fraction of the skills you have (and space time etc). I look forward to following this thread with great...
Gents I believe the 23rd of March 06 means that you can have an 06 plate car that is under the new registrations. Certainly when I worked at Mazda the difference of an RX8 registered before the 23rd of March 06 and one registered after it was massive.
Also highest first years tax one a new car...
