Gutted I had to miss this :( Some bad family stuff happened and I was required elsewhere - can't be helped and I'll do my bestest to be at the next one. Mind you, I said that about this one too...
The Vee would've loved that sweeping private road corner ;)
Dan
If you put it back to standard wheels though, you could probably get £400 for those on eBay, then it would be fine. Although it's quite leggy, without a FSH...

My Vee is always treated to two spaces. No way I'm letting some little chav brat crack my wings with the door of a Zafira. And the rear visability of the Vee isn't bad, better than the 206 it replaced heh...

I think there would be a market for a circa 18/19k one - it's only high spec Cooper S money, but it would have a 2.0 16v Turbo with 230bhp that remaps to 270bhp :p Granted it would be a limited numbers thing, but it would probably be cheaper for them to design and produce than the Mk1 V6...
I have a K-Tec gen two - its everything I wanted, shiny, looks good, isn't too loud round down, only clears it's throat when you're going for it. Pops on the over run too :) I'd recommend it, easy to fit and very well made.
Dan
I wouldn't buy it on the strength of that.
But, if you still want it, no more than £11k. You'll struggle to sell it on the future, and the warranty might be void unless repairs were done at the dealer anyway.
Or just buy a mint Mk1. Or save for a bit longer and get a non-CatD Mk2.

The Saxo, and the Saxo.
Either of them, they're cheap French shopping cars originally.
Or the Clio which, as you say has more toys.
How can you choose the Clio after stating all those points heh?
;)
Dan
That would be my exact spec, except I'd be wanting some form of LSD and I wouldn't be bothered about leather as long as I got Recaros :) And I'd want the 230 spec engine ;)
Dan
I hope no one here is confusing the St170 with a performance car hehe.
Look at the figures, a Saxo VTS would give one a damn good run. A Clio 1.6, hmmm, I'm less confident. Mind you, I had a 206 XSi 1.6 16v - always seemed quicker than my mates Dynamique (I think that's the right model?) so...
Or the Trophy. On the upside, early ones are gonna plummet in value (upside for us used buyers anyway...) because they have been selling so cheap new, and I'd imagine the older style gearbox will put a fair few people in the know off.
Dan
Garage advertising on eBay still has 10 left :) £13,995 plus options.

I own a Mk1 and I've driven a Mk2 a couple of times. In the end, I decided that for the money you're looking at for a really mint Mk2 (£16k+) you can have a truely mint Mk1 with the same miles, cambelt done, and £5k in your pocket - which helps with the crippling fuel consumption.
The Mk2...
Sounds a bit pikey inside to me heh. Mind you, I do own a Mk1 Vee and quite like the interior, so what do I know...
Prefer airbags been an option, prefer black doorhandles to chrome ones (chrome in any form is tacky IMHO - except for shiny exhausts heh, and they're obviously not chrome)...
The VTS is miles faster, handles better and will make you grin everytime you drive it. The Clio *might* be a bit better built, and will have a nicer interior - but unless you're like 40 who cares :p ?
I'd have the Saxo given the choice between the two.
15kg isn't a different you'd ever...
