I might be wrong but i thought the standard 182 was already a 200 cell sports cat that uses a metallic substrate? I can understand getting to an aftermarket sports cat if it's cheaper than the renault one but not if the renault one was fine.

Yep your right there. I've had the oil can light come on for 4 reasons.
1) faulty switch or wire
2) oil low enough that pick up pipe is not picking enough up
3) round a long corner at a track ( not good ) causing number 2 (not in clio)
4) oil pump has commited suicide

After some more searching i've found the strut top washer fix. I just wasn't typing in the right words it would seem. Can anyone confirm that this is the problem i have?

Finally found something more likely! The 2005 1.5 dci has a nice deep front bumper and has a frontal area of 20.34 which sounds better as the 20.02 i found seems to relate to the previous generation clio and 20.88 is almost as big as a sierra cosworth at 21!
