Renault also recommend you change the camshaft pulley nut and the inlet camshifter bolt. You can get the aux belt kit with tensioner but not sure if it comes with the little idler. If you have no problems with the water pump you can leave it be until the next aux belt change.

They did do the 1.2 16v in the mk2ph1. In my old mk2ph1 i fitted a dynamique interior.

Top it up with the ready mixed advanced coolant from halfords.

I think its a good idea, the knob does get painfully cold.

Have you slackened off the tensioner??

Its a rubber gasket. Needs to be replaced each time its off and the bolts have to be done up in certain order.

As above, it doesnt have them, the info on the rs website is confusing/mainly for the ph2.

If its a mk2ph1 then it wont have one. In the ph2 the gloveboxes were also cooled on some models.

I agree ben the 172mk1 box definatly needs to read the speed from the gearbox. Youd have to be an expert to get it to work from the abs. Can the mods please integrate this post with this one: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=368281

It will probably fit, they are all very similar and look similar but again the ratios are different. A 172cup gearbox may improve the acceleration a tad. Can you get a company to rebuild/remanufacture your old box?

a 182 cup has abs, a 172cup gearbox maybe used as they have the speedo sensor, try searching im sure youll find the answer, its been asked before.

Mark i wont be able to make it again this week. Meganechick i saw a rs megane just like yours on the parimeter road but it was being driven by a bloke with a lady in the passenger seat..

The 172mk1 box has slightly longer ratios and the speedo sensor is took from a sensor on the box, not from the abs. Theres also loads of other minor differences such as the oil breather. Ideally you;ll need another ph1 box.

A lot of people dont realise that the fuel filter should be replaced every 36k on a 172mk1. If theres no evidence of them being done other than the normal stuff Id bleed the brakes and cooling system.
