I have a silenced decat coupled with piper catback system on a ph2 cup, impressed with it as it seems to 'free' up the revs but the overall volume hasn't really increased at all (going from the standard cat).
As per title, my cr@ppy dell laptop is on its last legs, and I am looking to build either a desktop PC (for no more than £5 - 600), or buy a second hand unibody macbook pro as a replacement.
Any users on here that could give feedback on these laptops? Also am I wise to buy a second hand MBP...
If you can stretch to it, i'd upgrade both the front speakers to bookshelf speakers (these are very very capable speakers) :

and for the sub, this BK gemini is also capable, produces a suprising amount of tight, controlled...
I'd consider Quad speakers, sublime musicality, finesse and build quality in these units.
Also consider upgrading the amp too (Arcam are a good match for Quad speakers)
^Fvcking rank:dead:
You can find much, much better examples on the CS sale section mate, which will undoubtebly be in better condition then that sh*tter!
I am currently trying to burn some MP3 cds for my car, but however whenever I attempt to burn one, I just get an error message on the headunit (which is an Alpine 9887r).
The settings (under the Burn tab) are as follows :
- Set to Audio CD
- Apply Volume levelling across tracks on Audio CD's...
Looks 'ok', and for the money I guess you can't complain.
4 x 50w output is healthy too (depends on RMS though), i'd still consider a refurbed unit off MT Audio, maybe a pio or alpine, as even with refurbs you get a warranty :).
Any car audio outlet, halfords etc should stock them mate.
You would be better buying a decent HU, the sound is much, much improved with a decent source.
