    Re-attaching rear view mirror.

    Cheers. I went to AutoGlass in the end, £13 and they've stuck the metal base plate on. Going back on Boxing Day for them to (hopefully) attach the whole unit.

    Two things : 1) As Poorboys BH is a cleaner as well as a glaze - will it strip the RG55 off that i'm currently using as LSP? (I didn't bother correcting the paint as it's sh*t weather, but the paint needs SOME attention, so gonna glaze and LSP) - or will I have to use another type of 'cleaner'...

    My R26 does 28 - 30mpg all day long. Actually better fuel economy than the 197 it replaced. Lol.

    A1 Quattro!

    Do the design team at Audi really think that this car's a good looking car - honestly looks like it's been driven through my local Halfords branch - specifically the ripspeed subsection.... IMO the only reason it's 'wanted' is the low production number.... and that's it.

    ^ Agreed, R27 is the way to go. If not, at least cup chassis and Recaros - they'll make a huge difference to both your enjoyment and re-sale value. Just not Liquid Yellow :p

    My 172 cup felt and probably was quicker than my 197....AND got 35mpg +. Also parts and servicing were more reasonable. Maybe mine was just shite:o

    It's the weight that kills them IMO (you'll also struggle to get any better MPG out of the 197 over the R26). This is coming from a former 197, now R26.

    Plasti-Dip stockist?

    I'm wanting to respray the badges / bullets on the R26 - and am after Plasti-Dip gunmetal grey (aerosol version). However, Plasti-Dip UK don't have either Gunmetal Grey or Smoke in stock - and no reply to stock enquiries so far.. Any suggestions? Or even another brand that allows the badges...

    They fully expected me to book it in at that price too, lol! The R26 will be going to a specialist this time, the 197 never felt quite right after it's belt service at Renault. Lovely spec you've got there though, only thing missing i'd say is the cup pack.

    Bought the new car, its mint but ....

    That's pretty much what I paid (to the penny) at my local Renault dealer / service place. Did they also give you a (frankly ridiculous) initial quote of nearly £1300?!
