Re: 197 Gearbox's Agreed. The keyless entry never went wrong when I had my 197 either.

Bought - Fuchs gearbox oil - Castrol Edge engine oil + Sump plug - NGK Plugs - Alpine IDA X305s Headunit - Alpine steering wheel + display harness (£90 - f*ck me) Also painted the wheel bolts black. Contemplating buying some TPI polarised bolts next ....

The performance just don't justify the running costs imo. Hell my R26 is getting better MPG. Plus the 3.5k @ 70 is annoying as hell.

^ +1 - The very reason I sold mine. Pay close attention to a crunchy gearbox, especially 3rd and 4th gear.

Oh and shouted / swore at the stupid f*cking plastic screw things that secure said scuttle panel in place - I now need 4 replacements. F*cking Renault.

Removed the scuttle panel to unblock the drainage holes. 10 minutes my f*cking arse.

Corrected about 1/3 the paintwork. Fitted a BMC panel filter.

More a progress thread on the R26 paintwork correction. I'm taking this panel by panel due to A) Time constraints and B) Being slow. So, I started with the bonnet - rinshed, washed, rinsed, Iron X, Tardis and CYC fine clay (with LT as lube). Not much contamination left : DSC_0116 by DEAF...

Picked up the R26 last night, after closer inspection today it seems to have seen paint at some point in it's life :( The gold flake should look good when I rid the swirls and RDSs though :)

We can have a decent meet at this rate! Free tomorrow night?
