Seen your car a few times - i'm a manager for Aldi and have been covering at the chad store for a few months.
Surprised you've not seen the 197 or now the R26 hiding in the pub car park next to it ;)
I'm also struggling to decide between a Metro Vac sidekick (for the whole car) or inline de-ionising filter as the hard water around Derbyshire + black car = etching :(
Oh and shouted / swore at the stupid f*cking plastic screw things that secure said scuttle panel in place - I now need 4 replacements.

Managed to correct half the car today. 2 bits of bad news :
1) There's an obvious circular patch of paint on the 3/4 panel, with deep sanding marks obvious around it, under the lacquer - so I assume it's seen a bit of filler at some point :(. Managed to make it less obvious with a...

More a progress thread on the R26 paintwork correction.
I'm taking this panel by panel due to A) Time constraints and B) Being slow.
So, I started with the bonnet - rinshed, washed, rinsed, Iron X, Tardis and CYC fine clay (with LT as lube).
Not much contamination left :

Picked up the R26 last night, after closer inspection today it seems to have seen paint at some point in it's life :(
The gold flake should look good when I rid the swirls and RDSs though :)
