A 50mm is a very odd choice on crop sensor. Too long for most scenes and far too short for sports applications. It does however make a reasonable portrait lens, but not many on here are into shooting people.
*Sometimes* you can just clone out those grey triangles (after distortion correction) if the background is fairly clonable!
Not saying *I do* ;) Just that you can ;)
Anyone else seen this intriguing little compact?

I would agree on the 24-70, 70-200 and 85 prime, the others are extraordinary telephoto zooms, a 400 2.8 is nearly as big as a person lol! maybe for a sports togger but your average joe has a very nice selection of pentax primes for general, landscape use. Primes that would suit me down to the...
They are good enough not to warrant negative criticism but they don't stand out enough to warrant heaps of praise imo.
My favourite is the last one, without the statue, I like the ripples in the sand and the colourful reflections in the wet sand/water.
Some of the skies look a little noisy...
Do you have an 800 5.6 and a 1200? For the most part people quote them as essentials before buying a 1000d and kit lens!
If I were a pro I wouldn't touch anything other than Nikon or Canon but I'm not!
Pentax have a range of great lenses, quality lenses too!
To avoid getting the walkway in the frame, there is a little 'jetty' thing that sticks out a bit further to the left, step over the chains and your good to go! NB this assumes you were just outside of St Katharines Dock.
Also the image is very soft, I suspect due to using f32 (diffraction kicks...
Actually my lens is pretty sharp at 200 but softer at 300. Maybe the 70-200 is a want, not a need! Tbh 400 isn't much further than 300, about a quarter bigger. On a 24 Meg sensor I am happy to crop.
Some more, think I have a new favourite too, (second pic)

£120 for two lenses alone is good value and if you get into photography you can always upgrade to the mighty Pentax K5 or even switch systems should you feel it benefits you.
The majority on here have only heard of Nikon or Canon ;) But other capable cameras do exist!
Well I was on site at 5:45am (working!) but was able to get a couple of hours from 11:00-13:00 which I think were the dryest too!
Sky was very cloudy albeit with some blue patches so not the best backdrop. Saw the vulcan, a couple of display teams including one of the new ones for this year and...
