Push the little centre circle in with a small pointy screwdriver or a sharp pencil, then it should pull out. Once the scuttle is off you will see the little bolts that take the cover off.

Are you sure its the mounts, sounds like something is seriously wrong with the engine, the mounts would have to be very worn if it was knocking while idling.

Check the one under the battery, check the rubber isnt ripped, also loosen the bolts on the drivers side mount, get someone to pull the mount and engine forward and tighten. The rear rubber part should be resting on the black mount and the gap should be between black mount and the front rubber...

Did you buy the Renault head gasket kit?? I think it comes with new headbolts.
