Agreed, some G3 Liquid compound on a machine polisher and it will come off no probs. I've had to do this a few times on cars that have sat in our workshop/in our yard for a while ( I'm a painter in a bodyshop).
You should have put a good coat of fibreglass over the top of the holes and sanded that smooth first before you put on the filler, would give you a better result.
Wouldn't bother with chips away places tbh, just save your cash and pay the extra to get them done at a bodyshop. We've had a few jobs in fixing "smart repair" companies' work.
I wouldn't say it would be overly difficult, then again we've never had a monaco car in at work before. As long as the rest of the car isn't swirl city/faded you should be fine.
Very vague question, how big is the damaged area? Where on the bumper is it? Could quite easily only get the corner of the bumper blown in for about 70 - 80 quid if it's only little.
Best trying a scrappy if you haven't already, but yes you can get them from the main dealer. What reg plate is it? As there are 2 campus models, one which just looks the same as the mk2ph2 and one which has the number plate recessed into the bumper.
They could be using a cheap sh*t paint tbh. We have 2 paint schemes at work, one being a cheaper option, and it is absolutely useless at matching some more complicated colours like mine (gris boreal).
It's extra strange because black is usually the easiest colour to match.
Edit: What bit...
Insurance ftl tbh, although from what I've heard Direct Line always seem to be a bit more expensive than other companies, maybe time to have a shop around?
I work in a bodyshop and we certainly wouldn't risk not blending a metallic colour like xeros grey. Bite the bullet and get it done right or it will look sh*t, and as I say a lot on here, cheap bodyshops are not good bodyshops.
