Needs to be checked really, the light means your airbags and tensioners will be disabled when your driving. Have you checked both connections on both seats?
No idea, the alarms arnt fitted in the factory, they are fitted when the cars come to the country, the parts are not listed in the dialogies (that I can find).
For now if it keeps setting the alarm off take the connector off and bridge the 2 contacts on the plug.
Best to disconnect the battery for that one, the fan can cut in even if the ignition is off. As mentioned check all the hoses especially the ones that run along the front of the engine at the bottom.
Has anyone used these:
http://www.cats4less.co.uk/
Cat for a clio 172 is £144.42!!
Sports cat for a 172 is £243.13 (and its guaranteed for 2 years)
Renault want about £300++
The K-tec sports cat is £311
They are easy to fit, they just screw on, the fronts come with a plastic lug which goes in the wheel arch, just need to remove the old lug with a flat bladed screwdriver.
My cat on my 172mk1 is well and truly buggered now and the cat to exhaust gasket is blowing. If I buy a new one from Renault or the sports cat from K-tec is it fairly straight forward to fit. Ive had a look and where it joins the manifold looks like a right b**ch to get to. Another thing that...
Yay that was me, I take it yours is the black 172 with the double exhaust?? I work in building 7 on advantageLine/atm desk. Its normally parked in the lay-bye there because I always get parking dents in the car park.
How I do it is remove the centre cap on the wheel pop the 30mm socket trhough the hole loosen with the longest bar Ive got while car on ground. Then when its loose jack up, axle stands, wheel off, nut off etc.
^Hmmm I cant see that moving much anymore, you already have the majority of the gap at the front. You can check the otherside under the battery, that will move a little too, if your still getting the problem it could be the lower gearbox dogbone mount.
Also with both of the front wheels off the ground it pulls the anti roll bar down pulling the suspension arms down as low as they will go, allowing more clearance to get the strut back in.
You can try moving the engine forward. Loosen the bolts on the drivers side mount pull the engine forward with the mount plate and re-tighten. It should have the gap show in the pic at the front of the mount, not the back (arrowed)if that makes sense.
