Its hard to get them out without damaging the discs. GSF sell the discs, bearings, abs ring all in one neat Renault package for £131 delivered. You could probably then sell the good side, someone is bound to have the same problem and needs just 1 disc.
Could be the thrust bearing, common for them to dry up/wear out. Does the car whistle when the clutch is not pressed down? Otherwise the knocking could be your engine mounts.
It could be the pump thats faulty, did you try to use it a lot while it was empty? My rear didnt work but when I replaced the pump (£8) it worked fine.
Jack the car up and rock the wheel at 12 and 6 o clock positions and 3 and 9 o clock positions if there is play the bearing is probably worn, normally though bearing make a whirring/humming noise. Is the drum getting really hot after driving?
Ive got them set up on a old compaq laptop but lost the instalation cds when I moved house. try ebay or someone off here will be bound to 'lend' you a copy. Its a ballache installing it and getting to work though, I think it was designed for macs (or at least my dealor uses it on a mac)...
Its been mentioned before that the 172mk1 mount is superior anyway, I thought they wouldnt fit, someone said they are a different length. It might be worth someone with a mk2 trying a mk1 mount and see how they get on. ALthough the mk1 mount is about double the price of the other new from Renault.
You can swap them for mk2ph2 bump strips from a 5 door and change the badge to anything you want from a ph2.
Isnt the etoile a high spec car anyway, top of the range?
Ive not got this problem, are you using the virgin broadband firewall advisor thing??
Mine was causing problems so I uninstalled and put mcafee on and not had a problem since.
Im not sure if your Renault dealors are having a laugh but I brought one from Renault on Friday for £6.83 plus vat.
Part number 7701410155 Its the same as a honda civic and Renault avantine. Its the proper job one and matches the standard design.
As above powerflex do them but they are too stiff and cause more stress on the other mounts. Your probably better off getting a standard one. There is someone else that does a modified one but I cant remember who? Was it GDI?
Some do some dont, the 182s have the cabbasse one which has a higher output. But there are 2 types, tuner list and update list. The tuner list type is compatable with the 172s and most older Renaults.
It will say on the front of the head unit if its tuner or update.
Officially its 5.1 litres but if you put that much in it in one go it would go way over the max line. Stop at about 4 and 3/4s and see how far up the dipstick it is, then go for a drive and measure again. Top up as neccesary. The on board sensor can give a good indication if it works correctly...
Put the car over a pit today, the bolts holding the cat to the exhaust are going to have to be hacksawed/drilled off and as for the other end will find that out when I try to fit it. They are rusty too but Ive got a socket just the right size to get at the nuts and a spanner just right for bolt...
