Take the airbox off and get someone to look at the throttle body as you press the pedal. Should open instantly and you'll be able to see a delay.

When you say flickering, do you mean just a slight flicker or an on and off sort of flicker? Xenons or halogens?

WD-40 is a good lubricant for machining aluminium on a lathe and stuff. Fine for use on the threads, I've seen it used before.

It could be that anyway or an air leak, i'm no expert. Just with the way it moves out of sync with the throttle.

Did you try a map sensor on this? The way it rises at the same time as the engine speed dropping could be suspicious. Mine reads 380mbar at idle.

We had to do last minute changes on my mates track car on a trackday. Tried everything to get reverse and 5th, just wasn't happening, the linkage rod was hitting the tunnel no matter what we tried. Gave up in the end, but at least he had 1st-4th ?
