Need to make sure the groove the circlip fits in is clean of any crap.
Once in you need to give the bush a tap with a hammer and extension bar/small socket to make sure it's fully in.
Just don't attach the screws holding the bumper on.
My 182 is like that and i can take it off in seconds. Practically held on where it clips into the wings.
Come to think of it I've been due to change the inlet manifold gasket I keep not changing it. Could that be causing the high idle issue?
If it's leaking air which it sounds like it is yeah.
It won't affect your braking, only pulling the abs fuse would do that which puts the bias into 50/50.

If I was local I could have both sides fitted in 30 minutes. Bleeding probably about the same time again.
The only thing is you'll need to sacrifice some time to bed the pads in and let them cool. Do a 15 minute session and then come in and wait an hour.
