Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Here's one for you now. The guy from Febi told me not to fit either of the two I have to the car and to return them to the place I bought them. He said that Renault do not make that part separately for the 172/182 and that it has to be bought as a complete wishbone set [as in the Renault Parts...

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Massive thanks again here... and you've got Cup front suspension on yours ?

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Thanks so much for that... they use the 12mm mounting bolts, right ?

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

The saga continues... I'm trying to buy the correct one of these and was speaking to somebody at Febi who told me that they don't manufacture them for the Cup suspension... and that Renault don't have a part number for the Cup versions either ??!!?? What manufacturer's parts are you guys using...

Thanks so much for that, makes sense.

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Do you mean Cup and non Cup or just all 182s use the larger ones ?

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Just a silly question here. I bought a pair of Febi bottom ball joints from two different suppliers on eBay and have been sent different sized versions of the same part... one has slightly larger mounting bolts and holes than the other... even though they're supposedly the same Febi part...

That's great guys... thanks so much.

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

Thanks so much Louis... I was looking at that a little earlier and then went to the Febi parts finder to discover a plethora of different options for the 182 - with and without PAS. I might shoot Fish Brothers a quick message to see if this is the right one for my cup-pack car.

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

That makes a lot of sense. When I've had that before on other cars it was generally the strut top. I was getting the car MOTed yesterday and the guy doing it said he though it was the inner or outer ball joint on the track rod... and while it could be that, it's under a lot less load that the...

Steering inner rods - which ones ?

I have a 2005 Clio 182 with the cup pack suspension and need to replace the track rod ends as either they [or the inner joints] are making a creaking noise when I turn the wheel. The car has power steering and I was planning to buy Febi parts. The track rod ends are fine - there's a single...

Aftermarket induction kit effects on 182

Looks good. I took a quick look at the Fatty thread but unfortunately all the images and links are gone - I guess it's 10 years old so maybe they've been pulled down since.

Thanks so much for everything here... really appreciate it.

Aftermarket induction kit effects on 182

Not quite the topic you might expect. I'm considering replacing the stock induction system on my 182 with something like a Ktec setup. This isn't to get more power or driveability but to give me a little more space on that side of the engine as I'm fed up of faffing around with all the loose...

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

I did. I bought RSTuner from Fastchip and it did the bleed process perfectly. I don't plan to use the remapping elements of RSTuner but the rest of it is really excellent so it's worth the investment if you plan on keeping the car.

    Timing belt change interval

Maybe you're right... can't remember from 4 years ago.

    Timing belt change interval

That's what it seems to be. A Gates kit in a Renault box !

    Timing belt change interval

Well I've bitten the bullet and bought a cambelt kit, an aux belt kit and a water pump all from RPD. A bit of a strange one. The aux belt is labelled up Renault with a part number etc... but the cambelt is a Gates belt with just Gates part numbers on it. Now I know Gates make the belts for...

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

That's very helpful... cheers. I probably do a couple of thousand miles a year at most in the car so my tyres will probably date out before they wear out ! I've always had good respect for Avon as a brand - used their F3 slicks on my modsports GT car back in the day.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

I've a second set of wheels shod in Uniroyal Rainsport 5 - two tyres are excellent... two are 1mm. I've never used them so I may get two new Rainsports and try them for a bit while I cogitate on getting 4 new Pilot Sport 3s.

Fair enough... I think one of the FIAT Puntos uses them as well... but yes point taken.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

Thanks Matt... that's £486 for 205x45x16 and I'm probably looking at £80 or so to get them fitted... so not far off £600 again.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

OK, fair enough... but they're averaging £130-£150 fitted as opposed to £40 a pop for the Three-A... Can you give me the link to the above BTW I'm sure I'll end up with another set of PS3s anyway.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

May not always be the case... certainly wouldn't be here but then I've got two lever arch folders of genuine Renault parts and service invoices for my 3 owner 80K 182 going back to the original bill of sale... and a portfolio of photographic evidence for all the work I've undertaken.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

My 182 is currently shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 all round and they're a very good tyre. Before I relieve myself of another circa £600 for a new set, I was just interested in getting the opinions of people who've used a set of these. There's an eBay seller whose sold 123 sets of these and I...

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

You're right, the site's not easy to navigate but the one for our car would be the P606. There's a link to it here. https://threeatires.com/product/three-a-p606-uhp-tires/

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

As most of us have discovered, the lack of cars running 205x45x16 has meant rubber in that size is pretty expensive across all of the main brands. I was just interested to see if anyone has fitted Three-A tyres and what they thought of them. I know we all have opinions on budget tyres but I'm...
