    Auxiliary belt tensioner spring

Tensioner looks to have failed slightly by the looks of it. I'd change the aux belt kit tbh.

I've used it. How did you wash it? A section at a time and rinse or all in one go and rinse? Ideally you need to do it a section at a time otherwise it'll sit for too long.

    Melted Brake Boots

Mine last a year or so I'd say, only a couple of track days a year. I've not checked them yet after using my PBS pads, but the brakes feel better than ever after switching from CL RC5+

    Melted Brake Boots

Any boots in these calipers fail after track use, I've used all sorts. It's one of those things. The big redd ones tend to be the best though. They'll fail even earlier if they are exposed to copper grease or similar.

If it's not that bad for now then leave it until it goes ? You'd be looking at several hundred to get it removed - fixed - fitted.

Suspension Change - Am I being completely stupid?? Please Help!

Yeah, although you could rip the boot. Is it in two parts that boot, I can't remember.

Suspension Change - Am I being completely stupid?? Please Help!

Yeah, just needs popping back in and the gearbox oil topping up with 75w80 gear oil. I should have warned you about it before when saying about standing on the hub to lever it down to get the bolts in.... ? The plastic wing nut is on the front of the box, if you fancy topping it up yourself.

Suspension Change - Am I being completely stupid?? Please Help!

You've popped the passenger side driveshaft out of the gearbox!

Suspension Change - Am I being completely stupid?? Please Help!

Oh yeah definitely much hard with one wheel on the ground, but with both off the ground you still have to push down on the lower arm a bit. Have on all the ones i've worked on anyway.

Still does it with both wheels off the ground.

    wheel refurb on old wheels?

Chances are the wheels were already fooked though. Usually posh forged wheels or magnesium ones that you need to be careful with.
  26. Mr Trailer Man

    wheel refurb on old wheels?

Yeah to get the powder to stick to the metal by static, but then they are put in a oven to effectively melt the plastic powder.

Suspension Change - Am I being completely stupid?? Please Help!

Are you fighting the anti-roll bar? It's usually the case. Need to get someone to stand on the hub or something to lever it down.
  28. Mr Trailer Man

    wheel refurb on old wheels?

Depending what the wheels are made out of the baking process for powercoating can weaken the wheels quite badly...
