Yes it comes up automatically as a new source - plays as though it's a CD changer (with only ever 1 track), and, no, it is literally just plug and play. Don't know about your last line - I just squeezed the cable down the side of the head unit, pretty untidy I suppose but doesn't really bother me.

Cheers for the advice. Was probably looking at getting an Alpine head unit, but how do I know which ones are compatible? Ie. where the range stops being entry level?

I'm looking to get a new headunit, so that I can use an aux in and occasional USB (although that's not vital). I just need to know how to (if possible) retain use of the steering wheel controls and also the LCD info. 1) What do I need to look for on the new headunit to support these/what...

Hi all, Been registered on here for ages since owning a Mk1 16v many many years ago! Always wanted to try a 182, so after 3 weeks or so of waiting for the right one to come up, I went and bought a RB 182 this afternoon, and feeling pretty damn pleased right now! Such a good fun car, can't...
