Standard which I think is 4kg/8kg. I ordered them before I bought a the car as the plan was to drive to track days and around in it. Never knew I would get so into it and now I'm looking at racing next season and need something a little bit of a step up. It's a seriously nice kit and for the...
I bought them new from kam racing in '16 and they are no more than 15 track days old. I'll check but I paid just over £800 for the coils and mounts. So probably sell them for £500-600?
Only selling as I've just got my hands on some AST's
And I mean it was that bad everyone got stopped after lunch and told off by the organiser. The guy even said "where is the guy in the Ibiza? He's had so many complaints".
There was some seriously expensive cars in that video he got pretty close too.
I am so glad you found this. The guy was a complete f-ing nob. What he didn't say in the video was that he was black flagged for causing incidents and almost got sent home.
Just caught up. Love the new daily  I've been thinking about what to replace the golf with and these are on the shortlist. Track day next year? Brands?
Thanks! There is still so much I want to do.
The splitter is obvious as the holes for the bumper are for existing holes so that's simple. You need two further back which you have to install yourself. We used captive bolts in the end to make it easier to take on/off as before I got the trailer...
Take it you want to do track days?
Brakes and tyres will make the biggest immediate difference I think.
If your on a really tight budget talk to @George@RTR_Parts about the brakes. Probably hc front disks and ds2500/3000 pads, Leave the rears standard, braided lines and replace the fluid with...
I've looked into it. But from what I've found out I would also need to send the dampeners off for recalibration to suit the new spring rate I want. Sounds like such a pain in the ass I thought it would be easier to just get ast's. I like taking more experienced guys advice and everyone who races...
So it's been a while since I updated so thought I'm due a write up. So we went to Spa. Had the time of my life despite the weather not being amazing. The best circuit I've ever driven hands down. Went with a group of us so had such a laugh. Anyways pics.
The trailer I bought for a steal...
Yup, quaife diff, bc coilovers and full geo setup for track. Running 185hp.
The Ibiza was next to me that got a bollocking at lunch. We had a very near miss more than once
888r's on the front and 888's on the back. No reason for that just had tyres to use up. I run around 28/29psi when hot. Biggest problem I had was trying to get heat in the rear tyres I kept oversteering. Even span when I clipped too much kurb at Becketts trying to see how fast I could do it
Had the same at Silverstone today. Higher pressures and softened the suspension a bit. And 2 laps of trying to drive fast to get heat into the tyres without crashing. Didn't have a problem with grip once warm though
In a track/race car they are brilliant. Reach is so much better and the changes are easier and feel more precise. Not sure if I would want one in a road car as mine is noisey
The way I've seen people do it is send an aftermarket ecu to Chris at efi in the post. He can load a base map so the car can run and sent it back to you. Then take the whole car back to him for a proper map
Little update as it's been a month. Been to Donny again. Managed a 1.26 which is 2 seconds behind the boys that race so bit more time to be had. Car is behaving well.
Got the car mapped today by Chris at EFI and got good power with the mods I've done so very pleased with that.
Spa is...
