Loctite 1831778 1126639 5926 Silicone Gasket 40ml - Blue by Loctite http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CPOWYJY/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_jVRdub11ACCY8
Yep, well I totally screwed up the first gasket, live and learn as they say. Hopefully got another coming today from Adam @ Renault Wolverhampton. I can't get to an ECP or similar during the week to get some gasket remover, can anyone suggest what else can clean the old hardened gasket off...
Just recently did mine, come to fill it up tonight ready to start up after a full service and some other bits, and mine too started pishing out water [emoji20] . No time tonight to remove it (and I agree it is a ball ache of a job), but just in case I need one, where do you get the separate...
Snap, and funny enough, my old ones where also Bosch. Hoping it will run better as I hear these motors are a little fussy on spark plugs. Have yet to start her up after a cambelt change... eekk! [emoji26]
...anyone thinking of swapping out for a fresh one?
I've just received mine from ECP and reduced to £16 I thought was a bargain. It's now reduced further to £11.24 in the last couple of days!
OK it doesn't have the Renault markings, but it certainly looks like it's from a similar mold, and is...
That's for an after market one, are these considered OK? While getting familiar with Clio's i have noticed a lot of 'stick to OEM parts'...just checking whether it holds true in this case also!
Interesting, noticed mine looked a little like that on Wednesday when I put it back on, and I don't believe mine was in limp mode beforehand. How does limp mode present itself as I'll be starting her up again tonight/weekend after a full service and then some.
Good, that's along the lines I was thinking too. Thanks.
Really, thats handy, I'll have a look tonight.
A eye hook would be preferrable rather than directly bolting the flat plate of the strap at right angles to how it would be pulled, plus probably best to get the pivot point it out beyond...
OK, maybe ask a slightly different question. For track days/sprints/hillclimbs, is the rear tow hook on a 172 cup sufficient, or is something more exposed a better option to prevent the bumper from being wrecked. Not that I intend to spend most of my time in the gravel or a ditch, but I'd...
I just recently had the same problem, I reckon its definitely due to water ingress and surprisongly I had what looked like a fried resistor too. Found a couple of resistors that summed up to the right value and had a go at repairing it which worked. Although looking at the circuit board I...
yeecup, because after doing it I realised that the previous person left it wrong and I shouldn't have to force the cam horseshoe in at all. Runs fine, but I'd rather get it bang on. You only learn by having a go, guess you haven't then?
Also, don't forget to order a pulley oil seal kit too, don't want the grief of replacing the pulley without taking the opportunity to replace the exhaust and dephaser oil seals (behind the pulleys) too - just having to do this on mine after I realised the seals are not part of the either the...
I've just done the cambelt, dephaser and water pump myself at the weekend, wasn't hard just need to be patient and double check everything as well as use the proper tools. I've got to redo/finish mine as I didn't have new pulley oil seals included in the kit which annoyed me, plus I want to...
Now make that 4. Both carrier bolts on one hub, why?....cos I worked out that some prat in the past had swap them for the wrong bolt spec.....bloody cowboys!
Right as rain now though ;)
Getting miffed with this car build and sh*tty cheap metals Renault have used*, this is the third helicoil now!!
(*Personal opinion only - in the heat of the moment and all that!)
Isn't it always the way! Glad to hear you resolved it though.
That's why I really appreciate the write ups from people having and resolving problems on their Clio's, so thanks for explaining ;). Although my symptom is slightly different (initial hesitation when first depressing the throttle)...
It is a good idea, I remember my old motorbike had one.
So may be something like this stuck to the oil filter...?
