One thing I've noticed from a custom built jobbie I got from someone on here, it's a nice fit but it really needs to use lengths of angle/box otherwise the rear section that over hangs back past the rear cross beam is way too flexible. Can't budge the seat with the OMP fitted, this one can rock...
Its one of those scenarios where you had to walk away and try again tomorrow. Yep it does go from the side behind the manifold, but i still had to loosen off the manifold to get through past the solonoid/starter cabling. Anyway...it's done and its not going anywhere [emoji3]
The reason i...
For what it's worth, I'm 6ft and have bimarco futura seats with OMP base and side mounts, plus a slider. It's a track day/sprint/hillclimb/whatever car, and I had to swap out the base and side mounts for a custom jobs to get me some 2" lower as my helmet kept hitting the rollcage.
Well I've finally managed to get a hold of a heat shield, and what a b**ch to put on.
Can anyone advise the easiest way to fit it, I'm now guessing it's from below, does the manifold have to come off?
Been a while since I've had a chance to do anything with car, got 10 mins this afternoon and went looking for a heat shield which, by touch alone, I couldn't spot one. Anyone got a pic of one fitted? ...I really think it's this, all the symptoms point to it. Thanks all.
I spoke to PMS some time ago, they were on the verge of releasing an additional part at cost that reduces the vibration (some sort of bolt on weight at the gearbox end). Give em a ring.
Sorry for the long delay in replying. I'm confident it's OK but I'll check nonetheless this weekend, along with the presence of a starter motor heat shield. Thanks.
Anyone on here have a Cartek isolator installed, connected inline at the fuse box to the main (red) supply to the ignition key (which I've fused down to 30A rather than 60A to be safe), that experiences the device tripping itself when left overnight or over a long period of time (maybe several...
Ah, that's interesting then, cleaning it did reduce the issue through the afternoon, but it did still fail the odd time. I got the idea from http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=946684
Checked the main earth. I did think whether a battery cell had packed up and only shows on...
Thanks for the quick reply.
The car is running great even after 20 mins on track, nothing to make think the fueling is a problem.
Where's the temp switch? My water temp is rock solid at half way.
Thanks
Currently at Brands and this pain in the arse of a car (Clio 172 cup) is failing to restart after a run out/when hot. Lights on, relays checked, no starter!! Leave it 5-10mins it 'may' then start without me having done anything. Talk about a mind of its own. Anyone point me to the possible...
(sorry don't want to distract/hijack the thread but it's kinda related...)
That offset might suit me. I'm got a small dilemma, I currently have a 172 cup running ET45 TD pro 1.2's with 25mm bolt-on front spacers and 10mm fixed shims on the rear, the stance looks good and felt good on track the...
Exactly my thinking, at that price probably the best value for money for Trackdays and if allowed on sprints/hill climbs. Those better tyres must be at least another £50 a tyre which at my novice skill level would be wasted at the moment - maybe next year [emoji6]
Quite right, they're down again to 74 with free delivery, have just ordered a set. Was about to try the ns2r's until I rechecked this link, probably worth the extra 6-7 quid.
I'm also after another set and would like to know the official bore size rather than using spigot rings. Will probably go et35 too, need to check what my current ones are. Also, I think someone mentioned on here somewhere that you can get a discount with demon tweaks.
After a reasonably priced system that will cover driver + passenger + bay. Manual is sufficient and needs to fit in front or behind passenger seat. Price ranges and types are ridiculous. Need it to meet MSA regs. Anyone done the research and bought one recently?
Only concern is whether they would have the staying strength for use with a pull kill switch/extinguisher trigger. Probably still need screw's or additional brackets. Just trying not to put screw's through the dash if possible. Interested to know how others have done it for race/track.
Thanks, it's either something like this or cut up and screw in a sheet metal/plastic panel. Maybe @Adamio or @Renault Wolverhampton has a part number/price.
