    Off the shelf wax

Unless you have a decent detailing shop near by, HD Wax from AutoGlym is going to be your only possibility.

No reason not to get Prime Strong really. It'll just make life easier. But then again, I wouldn't buy it as I don't need it... does that not make sense?

Prime is prep (chemical cleaner with a small amount of abrasives), Jet is protection (sealant). The third is a Quick Detailer that will also top up the protection.

Cool story bro. I did the same as you know. Woke up this morning to the noise of an angle grinder cutting what? Bricks. So brick dust all over the fecking place :(

There are a few more above that if memory serves. If you want something that sets harder than concrete, you pay the price (or the detailer does).

Best kept Astra vxr on the planet??

To be perfectly honest, the money aspect doesn't make the slightest bit of difference as I/I know a lot of people that earn a lot more in a year than Marc does. Detailing isn't the most lucrative of business sectors to be in. The simple fact is, he is like the Steve Jobs of detailing. And as a...

It won't do any harm fella, it just might not be that good, either on looks or durability.

    My two day detailing marathon

I think you've got a one in a million chance of that happening, as he is based in South Wales and you are in Kent.

I am old school and therefore don't like AIO products that much. I personally wouldn't, as you won't use it for all the intended applications. And if you do, you'll run out of it very quickly.

Will you lot shut up about this. I already feel s**t for spending close to a K on one of the Vaios. And that currently needs re-whatsitting again.

Yeah, but personally Meh to the Born Slippy. It's an OTT product, especially for the price in my eyes. If you bulk buy Megs No:16 Last Touch it can be used as a QD, drying aid and clay lube...

Opaque is the way Gaz, pain in the arse as well fella. Even with the right products.

    Adding to the collection....

Ok, so protection should be at the top of the wish list. Clay, yes. Good choice as well. Polish, forget the SRP. Look at a decent polish like Menz 203s. Even by hand this will have a profound effect on the paint work. On the Racing Blue I would be tempted by the Werkstat Carnauba kit...

Whats a good pad for polishing by hand??

Hmmm, you're dead right, apologies to the previous poster!
  27. J

PTFE wax/polish is it any good??

No, I meant what I said. It is only as good as the bonds that tie the product to the surface. The reason it has to be heat treated during application is actually to break the Hydrogen bonds, to then allow them to reform to the surface it is intended to bond to. So ner. xxxxxx

PTFE wax/polish is it any good??

Actually, that's not fair. You are right in that it needs a certain heat element to bond to surfaces, hence non-stick pans, but in this case it's not the point the wax manufacturers are getting at.
