For shine, perhaps, but for wet look/slick paint, flat colours are much better. Think flat reds, yellows etc. RB falls into that category. I don't get decent reflections on mine, but it looks like it's still wet from paint.

Darker than that blue, or are you agreeing with the owners choice? I think it looks superb in that Royal Blue, but would agree that the purple and silver cars do not look as good...
Personally ditch the SwirlX and replace it with Menzerna 3.02 for the harsher marks, 85RE for refinement.
Sonus pads are very hard wearing, so are good for newbies. Don't forget you need spot pads and back plates for the tighter areas, like bumpers and pillars.
