Well ended up just going with the 50mm from Amazon. Bought a UV filter and a 3 year drop/spill warranty for only a few quid extra, totalled just shy of £100. Brilliant little bit of kit, and delivered next day, couldn't ask for more! Cheers for the replies!

Totally agree. Dad has waited for the Spyder V8 to come out as the V10 does not have the same burble at tick over and start up, and at low speeds. Granted at 120 it sounds quite interesting, especially with the roof down ;)

You do realise that the people that buy this car will look at the badge, look at the power, look at it having five doors so they can use it for the kids school run and buy it for their wife? The people that buy RS3s (wait, here comes a massive generalisation) will not be bothered by the price...

Thanks all, I have read up on the 1.8 motor, reports of 25% slower and louder. She can live with that. This is also for scenary and snaps at a wedding where people will pose. Other lenses with USM for the moving shots, so cheers. Nikon fanboi are we Trev? Rubbash! ;)
