That problem has been solved. The new ball joint wasn't quite sitting right, which caused the knocking sound. That's fine now. It's the steering that is drifting that's concerning me. Want to get it sorted.
Also to add to this, rather than making a new thread, my steering veers badly to the left all the time and the wheels just don't feel planted when going around corners.
What could all this indicate to? Something wrong with the suspension or something, or could it be the driveshafts? I have no...
Ill bear that in mind anyways, just to be safe. It's not like you'd see those bits of the wheels when they're fitted.
Ill be giving them a bell today to see whats what. Hopefully, if all checks out, ill be able to sneak them in before FCS.
^ That may just be the company you went to tbf. I did originally want them powder coating, as I thought that it was more durable/better option?!
If they'll price match and do the set for £60, I can't really complain. I'm not looking for absolutely perfection on the alloys, aslong as they're not...
Just quickly been googling. Found a powder coating company in Nottingham. Going to give them a bell tomorrow as they say they'll price match any current quote from another company. Hello cheap refurb (hopefully). A company in Bradford charge £1 per inch of wheel, plus that place in Birmingham...
^ Need my Sunflower to be winning at something. ;) Everyone else's on here seems to be better than mine in certain areas. lol
The FCS prep took a step back this week. Been away with the missus and the dog. The clean up operation will begin ASAP!!
On the first night of being on the site, this...
Yeah, wasn't happy. Over the phone, was quoted between £35-45 per wheel. Guy at the place quoted £55 per wheel. Told him to jog on, basically.
Ill try that Scott guy that Sargara recommends. Doubtful that they'll get done before FCS now though :(.
I'll have a read up about it. Plenty of deeper swirls/scratches that could do with going over ;)
after having it out in the sun today, I think I achieved a bit more than 70% correction. Did a s**t job of the bonnet, but the rest is pretty sspot on. :)
s**t ain't it. We're fitting a new one before FCS anyway.
Text meh blud.
You may be able to be slotte in this month ;)
Ph2 parts are a no deal anyway.
You love that Amigo stuff don't you. Is it actually that good?! May have to invest.
Cheers guys.
But then yours would be even epic-er ;). I need mine to be better than yours at something. lol
I'm hoping so. I want it to look perfect for CSS. A 2 day detail may be necessary again ;).
Sunflower Detail
So today I detailed the Sunflower, to kick start my preparations ready for FCS (and more importantly, CSS).
I was focused mostly on the paintwork today, as the previous owner evidently used a yard brush to wash it. Swirl city.

Rang this place earlier. Sound good to me. Between £35-45 per wheel (inc. tyre fit/balance etc), dependant on how badly curbed each one is. If they'll do it me for £150, ill deal with them. Gotta nip up next week for them to see it.
Oh haiii
Just picked up some new goodies, courtesy of Marky_. Will be fitting them after my wheels have been sorted. :)
FCS prep starts tomorrow. Plans of a fun filled day of detailing.
