It may just be the outer one. I dont know enough to say if they make different noises. But mine has been like this since before the mot in november, and doesnt knock unless turning left. Hope u get it sorted soon mate.

Mines the outer one too, and only knocks whilst turning. Whereas my mate has a cup with the n/s inner boot shot and knocks all the time.

Yours is the inner boot then im guessing?

mine knocks whilst turning left, not on full lock though? mines the drivers side outer boot. clip for securing it to the shaft snapped off. think ill get away with a new boot and grease? or is it shaft time? im thinking shaft, but i havent replaced one before so trying to ignore it.

I havent looked into it yet. Pretty sure its a new driveshaft now. Mine been knocking for months though. You could just cut it off, fit a new one. See if it stops knocking. If not then driveshaft time. Cheap enough through renparts anyway.

Fit a non cup rear bench?

Rear bench only has two seats though? And doubt there is holes in the body to secure another belt.
