My car was just in for the very same problem. They said car was not safe to drive but they didnt have the parts in. I was away for three days so just left it with them and picked it up an hour ago. All fixed no charge- not even for the extra scratches in the side!
Anyone had one of these go? If so what does it sound like when its on its way out? The engine started making a funny sort of squeaky grinding noise today and seems to be coming from about the alternator/water pump. Any ideas?
DAz looking at the pic I would suggest some new tyres! They might be legal but not very good in the wet me thinks! But then I always did err on the cautious side.:)
Holts make one type but as Robby said I had to use this once on a 306 because I couldnt get the locking nuts off. It cost me a new tyre cause they said they couldnt fix the puncture. It also made a hell of a mess of my wheel arch!
I had an old civic 1.6 16v of the crx era and I stuck it upside down in a ditch! You can push the 172 a long way before it bites back. I havent found the limit yet except for in the wet when I was being silly and I just gathered it back together. But then you maybe push it harder than me!! As...
Cat is fully covered I believe cause when I took mine in to get the mid section replaced they had quoted me it as no cost because the woman thought it was the cat. Someone else on here had a similar prob to yours and they just welded it up again I think it looked well boddged!
It would be just my luck to get a puncture on a stinking wet night and not be able to get the wheel off. As I said earlier it happened before but lowering the car back onto it worked but not this time. Wonder if its got anything to do with the Autoglym wheel cleaner Ive been using?
I had this prob on the bonnet of my MK1 when I got it. You could only see it at funny angles or in artificail light. Looked like the bonnet had been buffed with fine gravel! Took it back the next day but they never really sorted it. You just dont notice it so badly now becasue of all the stone...
As the sun was shining here today thought I would give my car a real good clean. Was getting a bit carried away and thought I would take off my wheels to give them a good clean. Anyway got the jack out , undid nuts , but the wheel would not budge. Despite putting the full weight of the car back...
Easiest way I got my front pax seat out was by unscrewing it from the rails. Take off the two plastic side panels on the seat. There is a screw at the back of both of them. This will then allow you to get at the bolts holding the seat on to the runners. It can be done from underneath but its...
