F**k them ..don't get priced off the road, drive what you want and use as much fuel as you need to before it runs out. The government want us all driving around in electric cars which the batteries in are shipped around the world to produce and are hard to dispose of.

+1 IMO the 172 is pretty skittish/crashy on UK roads (potholed to f**k)

As always, a good idea would be to 'do your time' in a lower powered car before stepping into something like a 172

Go for the best car you can afford regardless of age or model IMO 172 better looking than 182

+1 dampers going is what causes wheels to 'bounce' over bumps etc affecting roadholding

Agree Tinkering for the sake of tinkering....engine can get enough air with stock setup

K&N, Piercross etc....always banging on about it. If people have enough time to waste f**king about with air feeds then that's their problem! Original setup designed for the car FTW

197 for me, just looks fantastic in the metal, way better then the 172/182

K&N or Green Not convinced by ITG and their sticky/oily foam filters but they seem to be favoured by people on here

I've always heard good things about Powerstation. 130bhp @ the wheels does sound a tad low though if your making close to 200 @ the fly

Quite an unremarkable car performance wise really (lack of torque low down) but bloody grippy round corners which is where the fun is to be had

+1 Best advice by far, newer car doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better/trouble free
