    Worth doing if you paint the bonnet to match the car and remove half your interior to save weight

    Hate the word 'tubby' as well...is it easier to type than turbo or something? True on the T25, good turbo and IIRC fitted to later Escort cosworths for the reduced lag. Easily handle 1 bar

    +1 Definately go for the 197 if you can, it's a better car. period.

    I'd stick with the 1.2 myself, moving to a 1.4 won't make that much difference Rack up the no claims then go straight for the 'main course' (172/182 or 197)
