Dunno what to suggest there mate. Whenever mines struggled to pick up satellites I have resolved it by unplugging it for a mo then back in. I take it the warranty has expired ?
Certainly loads better for the engine than being driven around town. I thought that the only time that constant speeds/engine loads were bad was when the car has not yet been run in.The most important thing you can do (aside from regular servicing obviously) is to ensure that the engine oil is...
Fook me, thats a lot of cars in a short space of time. All of a sudden I dont feel so bad having only owned my old Impreza for a year (around half of which I spent the other end of the country !)
Pretty gutting mate, especially with such a new car. As with others above I also try and park in such a way that there is a reduced chance of damage (ones die to a hedge or kerb for example) but theres never any guarantee that some tw*t wont park like Stevie Wonder and cause some damage. Shame...
Trade in is only good if you are desperate for a quick sale and dont want the aggro of selling private. I did it with my Scoob but know that (in theory) I could have got more privately. I knew that a Scoob was not the best car to try and sell privately though and I decided to take the easy...
Only ever put Opti in the Cup but as I dont use her day in day out it doesnt bother me that it is a tad pricey. Now the company car is a whole different matter, as even though the cost is irrelevant I dont see the point of using anything other than boggo 95 ron stuff in the thing.
Thats not good mate, thatd certainly f*ck up anyones day.
Might not be too pricey to fix though- assuming the paint surface is intact Id be inclined to get a dent specialist to work their magic on it. I had a crease removed from a rear panel once and simply could not find it - excellent job.
They (200SXs) are not *that* quick standard from memory. I used to be able to hold off a standard one belonging to a colleague prompting him to ask me what the hell I had done to my (modified) 106 Gti .. he he!
He then went and got his (P plate) 200 modified in response and sadly we never got...
Ive also been using Rain X for some time now and it is a fantastic product IMHO. It does take a little time to apply but if you follow the instructions to the letter then you should not see any smearing issues. I think as mentioned above that making sure the screen is perfectly clean before...
Went out earlier today and noticed that some kind sole had shattered my rear wiper (the end section that contains the actual wiper blade). Even allowing for the fact that its a French car that must have been a good whack Id say!
Just lately the kids have been playing a mixture of football and...
As already said I think that the Clio would hold its value better. Having owned an Impreza (like a few on here) I can certainly relate to the running costs and I feel it is this more than anything else that has hit the market for such cars. The Clio on the other hand will always remain an...
The mileage/age factor is one that IMHO cant be ignored. You know your own Cup but even with the FRP having been well cared for you might well end up taking on a heap of problems you could well do without - purely down to the age of components. Better the devil you know.
Saw a mag the other...
Owned an RB5 Impreza that was costing a heap of cash just to keep on the road (no faults or anything just normal servicing, fuel ,insurance and Optimax etc). Decided I wanted one of them there Cups as i couldnt see anything else that offered the same performance per £ ratio without buying older...
Some seriously pokey cars in the list but these 2 jumped out - those Evos arent half tuneable (even allowing for slight inaccuracies in the quoted bhp of course).
:D
Dont be too concerned about the rubbing strips being slightly faded/matt as mine are a bit like this. I am reliably informed that a drop of Autoglym bumper restorer (green goo stuf) will get them up a treat though.
Good point above about how a strut brace might affect the cars performance in the event of an impact. I guess a lot would depend on where the point of impact was and of course the severity too as to whether the braces presence helped or hindered. Any thoughts, where are the boffins when you need...
