I agree that TVRs are all hot to trot. But how much attention a car gets is proportional to how rare they are as well as how good looking they are. TVRs are soo common nowadays that I dont give them a second look. Obviously as the Sagaris is currently rare and beautiful, I would stop and look...
I moved from a 172 cup to a V6 255 about 1 month ago.
In about 12 months time I would expect that youll be able to pick up a mk 2 V6 for about £15K.
The first thing Ill point out is that youll feel no difference in power between a V6 and a 172 at speeds under 80mph. Once you pass 80mph the...
Cheers for the help guys.
I ended up driving to Newbury Renault (5 mins away) and asked if they could help. They took the car away, removed the plates, fitted the new ones and then charged me nothing. EXCELLENT.
My car now reads V6 YEP
I have just bought private plates for my V6.
I had assumed that removing the current number plate fixings would just require a screw driver but it seems more difficult that that. The bolts used are a type that Ive never seen before and they seem to spin indefinately without undoing.
Any ideas?
Its amazing how varied peoples tastes are..
When I was looking to buy a V6, I was lucky enough to view most of the colours on offer. Personally I found black to be a little dull, Red was nice but just didnt do it for me, blue and grey were too common, which left me with the yellows which I...
I got out of my V6 this afternoon only to find a few spots of water under the front section of the car.
I pulled out the luggage holder and found a black pipe against the bulkhead that was wet. Anyway, I ran the car and the pipe started dripping water. I turned off the aircon and the...
I bought my V6 255 a few weeks ago.
I moved to the V6 from a Fiat Coupe 20VT.
The first thing that Im going to say is that the V6 is NOT a fast car. The car is too heavy and the V6 is under-powered. In fact the V6s performance is almost identical to a 172 / 182 below 80mph. However, the...
172 seen coming out of Greenham Business park. I was in a yellow V6 and followed you into Newbury. I was impressed / disappointed to see that the 172 is as fast as the V6 (at least until the speeds get silly). Anyway, nice to see another Clio enthusiast – certainly did wonders for my ego when...
Ha ha, I laughed out loud when I saw that pic... lol
Just as an add on, I notice that MikeT is still running the standard box with 440bhp, so surely they are fairly solid. As for the clutches being weak - I have only owned the car for a week and completely agree. However, Im yet to hear of...
Clearly your talking from experience, but a light front end should mean that the back wants to push on (like the old 911s) i.e. oversteer, rather than understeer.
Oh well, Ill have to get it on a track and see how it handles. If it really does struggle with understeer then maybe a little left...
Is reliability an issue with the V6?
It may have a little more power, but on the road performance (from my experience at Santa Pod) is worse.
Looks... thats a matter of opinion. The dealer that I bought the V6 from was next to a Nissan garage. I had a good look at both cars and the V6 IMO...
OK OK... The 350Z is not exactly ugly but IMO it is not a patch on the V6.
I think it is also worth saying that the mk1 and mk2 V6 have very different handling characteristics, i.e. the mk1 handles like a yo-yo where as the mk2 handles similarly to a 172 cup (I know because I have just...
Not to get too off topic but the 350Z is IMO ugly in comparison to the V6. Furthermore, Ive been very dissapointed with their straight line performance as Im yet to see one break 15seconds at Santa Pod...
Id have to agree.
The V6 in a straight line would be faster than a 182, especially once the speeds got silly. However, around a track like Brands Hatch with lots of tight bends the 182 would be as fast if not faster than the V6.
Regardless of this, I would much rather own a V6 than a 182...
Ive recently bought a V6 255.
This is the first rear wheel drive car that Ive owned.
Last night I was demonstrating how good the traction is off the line by trying a launch at 5,000rpm. Now Im used to progressively taking my foot off the clutch to get the fastest progress, but I believe...

Where do I find the plaque detailing what number build my car is?
Is it normal that the fan still runs after the car is switched off - sometimes for a few minutes? The fan seems rediculously powerful!
Im 26 and Im paying £680 with Norwich Union. I was interested to find that by adding my girlfriend as an additional driver (not that I would ever let her near the car) my premium went down by £100.
If your thinking about spending £14K then surely you should consider a Mk1 V6? Take one for a test drive - even though it is marginally slower than a Scoob I bet you prefer it.
Of the other cars youve listed the Scooby would be fastest but not noticeably until you got over 70mph. The 172 and...
I picked up the car earlier today and simply "Im in love". It just feels so solid - the gearbox in particular impressed me.
So far today, I havent pushed to hard, though I have taken it through the rev range a few times. The sound as it passes 4,000rpm warms my very soul! Ive been grinning...
