It's the first time I've taken the engine cover off and had a proper look round. Found some interesting things.
Thank you Renault dealer who did the belts for remembering to do this back up:
And what the hell is missing from here? There's a thread for something!
I'm trying to get the fuel rail cover off, I've got the middle one to undo fine, the 10mm deep socket fits ok fine, but the left nut won't behave, I can't get the socket to go onto it no matter what.
I did a YouTube video just cause it's easier than explaining, the first it the okay one...
I was told 'the rear boxes have collapsed'... I said 'oh I saw they looked a rusted and old' and he said 'yeah, if you hit them with something you can hear the chunks of stuff inside rattling around like glass, they honeycomb structure has collapsed'... 'probably won't pass next MOT so get it...
I got in the car and drove out of the industrial estate our office are in... as i got out of the compound and tried to accelerate gently in 2nd I couldn't get about about 3200rpm. It was pretty much exactly like when you are in the wrong gear going up a hill and there's just not power. The...
There's some chunky discounts on all Draper stuff on Amazon at the moment. I'd never pay the RRP but with those discounts just picked up a torque wrench and socket set.
For example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node%3D114414031&field-keywords=draper+socket&x=0&y=0
"A new catalytic converter & full cat back system from Renault will be over £2000! "
:S are you sure?
i was quoted £487 as the renault price for the rear cats & pipes + 1 hour labour @£29.99 to fit it at the indie renault place I got my rear bearings done. He showed my the part on Dialogys...
Raising this one from the dead, found it in search.
Will the front of a 182 get up onto these okay?

I would use jack stands but my driveway slopes downwards so it wouldn't...
Do I need to replace the plenum gasket... or can I ignore it? Sods law it'll fall apart when i take it off and I'll have to cycle to the dealers to get one so might buy one anyway.
Fred, they have a 20p sump plug & washer but it was from chinese company Corteco so I avoided it... but I guess in...
Kinda hijacking this thread to ask a question but it's pretty relavent, hope noone minds.
I've always been interested in putting a car on a dyno... just out of interest and to say I've done it. Do you run the car yourself or do you sit back and watch your car whilst someone else does it? If you...
pardon?
I get ~39mpg on cruise control at 75mph and ~35mpg at 85mph... very roughly.
I've given up driving quickly on motorways. I used to hammer along and noticed in traffic I'd be overtaking the same lorry 2 or 3 times. Cruise control at 70.. sit back and relax. It's loads cheaper and...
I'm 21, have been driving since I was 17 in my own 1.2 Clio ( until it was nicked ) and have had access to my dads 'big engined' cars since I was 19/20 (Fleet insurance & MkV GTI, Range Rover... thinks of that ilk).
All I can say is... my new 182 scared the s**t out of me the first few...
Oh and I thought it might be a good time to buy some ramps, anything obviously wrong with these?

My driveway slopes downwards slightly so I thought driving down onto the ramps would give me a good lift up to work under.
I've got a 15% off voucher from eurocarparts for this weekend so was gonna order all the stuff for my 84k service.
You stick the reg in and it comes up with the parts that fit your car... but just to double check I'm not being a moron:

I bought mine 3 weeks ago, a 182 with 82k on the clock, two previous owners, full service history, serviced in Jan (72.5k) had full belt change, full service, new front discs and new pads all round, new centre section etc... etc...... Passed it's MOT the day he put it up for sale. It'd been...
Well she got it home okay and took it to her uncles garage to have the code read. Turns out the only code was "a brake light pedal sensor thing" that he disconnected, reconnected and rechecked the codes... no more light. So just one of those random things.
He also did an emissions check for me...
Bought my 182 last week and just paid for membership :approve:
My girlfriends using the car for the weekend whilst I'm at my parents and I just got a call saying that the orange light is on. Are these usually emissions/sensor related issues?
I've driven 1000 miles and had zero issues, and...
I've just bought a 182 and, basically, can't find much info about the alarm. I know its a Cat 1 approved, and noticed the little motion cubes by each A pillar. And, by setting it off by opening the door as I blipped the key, it's the loudest alarm I've ever heard. But apart from that, not much...
My 2004 182 does this, lumpy idle (feels like its on the edge of stalling, but never does) and sometimes you can put your foot to the floor and it wont pass 1400rpm. After 30 seconds its fine and drives normally
Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
Just bought myself a 182 and thought I'd see what you guys thought it was worth. I'll let you know if you were close to what I paid (or sit in the corner sobbing if I got a bad deal!)
