What a sh*tter... Sorry to hear that mate. I've never heard of cold weather causing the side windows to break before though.
I'd keep an eye on your motor for a while, just incase someone's after it. Get a few other deterrents too, disklok, anything...
I think a lot of people are missing the point. Renault aren't intentionally making the new Clio RS III bigger and heavier to p*ss everyone off, they have to take account of stricter EU regulations regarding crash safety, Euro NCAP etc. Which is going to make the car bigger (crumple zones) and...
A bit of a weird one this, my car has decided it wants the interior fan on maximum all the time, even if the temperature is set to high or low, if the display shows the fan on minimum, or the climate is competely switched off, the fan will still be on max power!
Anyone else come across this...
It is a good price... If the cars good it would be a shame to hand it back over a £300 alarm. Maybe let the dealer sweat a bit and see if they back down a bit over the alarm.
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
If they specifically stated that the car was UK Spec, then yes I agree they have to reimburse, or bring the car upto UK Spec standards. If they didn't state that it was UK Spec, then you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Which is why you have to double check...
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I've lost it with this thread, it was confirmed to be UK Spec, then it wasn't, then it was.. now you've picked it up and it isn't! I think you'll struggle under law to make the garage pay for anything, now you've handed your cash over and collected the car it...
LOL.. no way!!! I spotted this guy a few weeks ago near Cockfosters station, I thought I was seeing things!
I was gonna put a post up, but thought everyone would think I was making it up!
I've seen this V6 too, the guy who owns it works around the corner from me. I'm not sure if he's a member of Cliosport though.....
I'll have to get flyering!
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I think as long as the car is registered as UK Spec, and you can knock the dealer down because it's not a UK supplied car, then go for it.
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
Strange, I've never been asked if my 172 was an import, and I'd be interested to know why an insurance company would quote more for an imported 172.
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
Why would you have to tell the insurance company? I thought that EU imports had to conform to UK regulations anyway? Hence why they have an alarm fitted etc.
