telford-mike I have ordered the front brace but K-tec have not finished designing it (number 2 on the list at the moment) and back seats are in the garage where they are staying.
dogmaul Its a Ktec Stainless Steel rear brace cost £59 + Vat and Delivery
Had no problems with the seats at all.
Take a while to get used to even more so having harnesses as well.
When i did the 2 hour drive to the Donny show i was fine.
I got mine lowered -40mm using Apex (172) springs.
Cups rear springs are the same as a 172 andthe fronts are a higher spring rate which the lowered springs are anyway.
Had no probs with mine (had them on for 5 months now) except the rear does not go down as much as a 172 due to the lack of...
Got my Cup on 2nd November 02
Done 6500 miles now. Pay £800 with Renault 26 from Staffs
Got smoked side repeaters
Apex -40mm lowering springs
17" Speedline Turinis
Cobra Monaco bucket seats and Sparco 3 point harnesses
Focal 136V components
Nacamichi CD-45z CD player
Rear seats...
What extra weight.
If you go for the 17" Speedline Turinis they are lighter than the 16" that come on the car as they are flow formed.
Mine is better off the mark as the wider tyres seam to get more traction.
Plus they look so much better.

When i had my Megane Coupe i made my own as nobody seamed to make one at the time.
Cost around £150 but it did sound superb

Renault did produce some lagunas in Mondial Blue but stopped it as they only sold a phew.
I thought 172s only come in Silver:p (ducks ready for the flack)
I do like the 172s but i like to modify my cars so i got the cup, as i intended to rip out the seats etc which i have done.
The 172 may...
I will be using it for track days as my Westfield that i use now is up for sale but i did it a bit for looks. I get bored rather quickly with my cars so i have to mess with them (it must be in my blood).
Once i get the K-TEC polished S/S rear strut brace i can use that to mount the rear point of the harnesses.
More than likely to carpet the floor and use the spare wheel well as a storage compartment. Did think of cutting it out plate it over then have the exhaust coming out of the centre of...
Nearly finished stripping out the back of my car.
Didnt realise the rear seatbelts had pre-tensioner as well as the fronts so i will have to bypass them as well.

Its not actually the engine or the exhaust.
The whistle noise is apparently the injection system they use on the 172/Cups.
Most new 1.4 16v & 1.6 16v Renaults whistle for the same reason but not as loud as the 172/Cups (According to my dealers mechanic they have quite a phew come back with...
Car feels much quicker know but the arse does tend to come round easyer.
I must of lost 20-25Kgs or even more. Got to take out all my power cables and RCA cables yet. Must be under the 1000kg mark by now. I will weight the car when i have got all the bits out on my mates weighbridge.
Should...
Get in your car and start the engine. When you hear the noise look up where your interior light is.
Infront of the light is a group of holes. If you put your finger over the holes the noise should go quiet. There is a small fan behind there.
My mates 172 did the same. Its something to do...
Stripped out my rear seats , boot carpet and shelf so i could mount my harnesses yesturday.
Does anybody know how to strip out the front and rear seat belts.
What coil overs do you recommend as the back of the car know looks like its on axle stands.
Cheers
I would not bother with them as once you have used them the tyre cannot be repaired.
I leave mine at home with the tool kit and rear seat for weight saving.
Drove the car for the first time with the seats in this morning.
I must say, far better support than the standard seats and quite comfy as well which did suprise me.
At least now i can corner quicker with out the fear of ending up on the passenger seat.:p

They are Cobra Monacos and the subframes are specialy made for the car so no mods needed to fit except the wiring but thats easily sorted.
There is runners as you can see the handle just in front of the seat.
Nobody is going in the back (you can get in if you move the seat forward) as i will more than likely ditch the rear seat and put in a rear strut brace to mount the rear of the 4 point harnesses.
The seats complete with...
Took me about an hour to remove the old seats and fit the new ones. (including modifying the wiring looms under the seats to stop the SERV and AIRBAG lights coming on)
They are about 2" lower than the standard seat on its lowest setting.
Now time to look back and admire.

The Colour goes with the Cup Blue so well. Just need to get my harnesses now.
I will be there both days hopefully.
Should get my seats put in this weekend if they turn up tomorrow (only a week late). So if any Cup owners want to take a look i will be around.
All the Airbags and Pre-tensioners are on independant circuits so if one goes faulty the rest remain working. As far as the control unit knows it thinks the Pre-tensioners are connected and working.
I will be replacing my seats soon (hopefully they should be here the end on next week) and have been looking into the problem of the pre-tensioner that when you disconnect the loom to the seats the SERV and AIRBAG lights come on.
All that is required to extinguish (spelling) the lights is a...
