Ah bollox, I forgot to say that I am opening them from a link in a web page!! DOH, sorry bud!
Yeah, we basically have an HTML page with links to all the popular word and excel files. When we click the link, they open as described above.
A normal network share. It does it on my home XP system too. You get the MS Word stuff but within an IE Window with the Back/FOrward, Faves buttons etc.
Hi all,
A bit of a strange questions but here it goes..
When accessing documents (word, excel etc) that are stored on a network drive, they open in an IE window. This is causing the filename (as seen in the start bar when the app is minimized) to not show the doc name. It instead shows the...
Thanks for all the replies people. I found an application on the laptop called "Dell OS Recovery". I had a read in the online help manual and it stated that this app will let me burn ONE copy of my OS onto CD for backup purposes. So I ran it, it created a CD and then uninstalled itself! I had a...
3 times!!! Thats a buck on!
Anyway, thanks for the advice fella's.
I have reinstalled XP on this machine a few times (desktop) with the CD that came from Dell, it never once has asked for a CD Key, must be already reg'd or summit.
Thanks for the speedy reply!
Not questioning your expertise, but is that a fact or asumption? I only ask because I thought windows was very heavy on copy protection (WGA, WPA etc). What is to stop someone from handing out copies of a genuine WinXP CD and just letting them all use my product...
Hi people,
I recently bought a laptop from Dell with Windows XP Home SP2 on it. I never received a Windows XP CD with it as it's stored on a hidden partition on the harddrive. However, if I want to delete this partition to free up space and then reinstall windows, can I use a regular (non-dell)...
That oen will be fine for web surfing and basic tasks. Dont expect it to run any games tho. Dont buy the wireless router from dell, too expensive! Get one from ebuyer.co.uk or amazon.co.uk.
Hi ppl,
If you go to www.dell.co.uk/tv and scroll down to the laptops. There is a Dell Inspiron 1300 for £289 Inc. VAT and Del !!!. I think its a mistake at that price!
Its a pretty basic lappy but one hell of a deal. Its a 1.5GHz Celly, 256mb RAM, 40GB HDD, WiFi Card, DVD -/+R drive. No other...
Hi,
Well, I replaced the ratchet mechanism on my clio to try and cure the creaking clutch. It worked, however I now have a different noise!!!! It's now something to do with the brand new ratchet. It sounds like a zip tie being pulled every time I press the pedal. It only happens on the down...
Right ppl, just got back from the Garage....and its FIXED!!! You need NO grease on the pivots, they are made from a special plastic that is self-lubricating. The fix is a new ratchet mechanism. It was only about £17+VAT from Reno Parts dealer.
It feels really good to come to a junction and not...
Hi all,
Just thinking about buying a laptop. Nothing too expensive tho. I have customised a nice Dell Inspiron 1300 for £425. Are these normally good laptops? If you know of any other good deals, please share.
Also, any one know how to get any Dell promo codes?
Cheers,

Thanks for the replies ppl. I will check the drain holes 2moro. Are these the drain holes that the sunroof uses? If so, and they are blocked....how do you get them unblocked?

Hi ppl,
My 02 Clio has started letting in water on the passenger side door. It just seems to be a trickle appearing at the bottom of the door, on the plastic trim that connects to the carpet. Any one had any expirence of this? I've have a look and cant see any rubbers out of place. Is it just a...
Just test drove a Corsa SXi. Man the clutch was like stepping on a cloud. Got back in my clio and it felt like SH1T. With people saying they have had the creaking from new, it doesnt sound as if it will be every fixed!
Yeah, I got them from renault, they were less than a quid (76p I think). I wonder if you should oil the ratchet thing, it may make it slip or something...humm
Just an update...I have just fitted brand new bushes to the clutch pedal, it hasnt made any difference. I get the feeling it could be the ratchet thing, I think its used to auto adjust the pedal.
Hi edde,
Thanks for the reply. My car is out of warrenty now and don't really want to pay reno prices if its a big job. Has the new handle been modified some how? Also, how much, roughly, am I looking at for the new handle?
Thanks bud,
