What sort of torque is your Clio making ?
My Pulsar is putting out 318 bhp and 293 lb's/ft of torque and I can out drag M3's (E36 and E46) fairly easily.
Bearing in mind the Pulsar is around 120 kgs ?! heavier than your Clio and, I have 4x4 transmission loss, you should out drag him fairly...
You could try upgrading the pads all round first, with some decent fast road pads like the Mintex M1144 compound or Pagid fast road etc...
Fit steel braided brake lines at the same time and change the fluid too.
If you bed the pads in correctly, you should notice a marked improvement over...
You actually undo the bleed nipple which, will have a hex shaped part on it.
As for the pipe/hose, see what will be a tight fit over the bleed nipple. ;)
Yes it will. It's still very much hydrocopic, it'll Just absorb moisture slightly more slowly than a 'normal' brake fluid.
You'd be better off buying the much cheaper AP Racing AP600 fluid which, actually has a higher dry boiling point than the SRF stuff. This is still overkill for a car used...
It's strange that you guys all use DOT 4 fluid as, DOT 5.1 fluid is specifically designed for ABS cars ?!
The only reason I'd be using the DOT 4 over DOT 5.1 is for the higher boiling point the DOT 4 usually has, over the DOT 5.1. This is only really useful on a track though ?!
Anyway, just to...
Try www.Bethere.co.uk
I've just switched to them and so far, they seem very efficient. I'm being activated to day so, I'll let you know how good the service is.
I looked into it a fair bit and, they came out as the best for price, service and usage and you get a free wireless router.
If...
Don't want to be a stick in teh mud but, any potential buyer might want to read this: http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/turboChargerBasics/turboChargerBasics.html
Effectively, that turbo won't last long in it's current condition and, it's likely to be quite damaged running the way it is.
Nice, quality work bud but, unfortunately until you enclose the rear of the filter, the rest of the work is pretty pointless. As, it'll still be sucking in warm air, and unless there is forced air coming down your cold air feeds, they won't be functional either.

Not directly no but, this has been covered above.
It doesn't mater whether your engine is F/I or N/A, you'll still get oil vapour through the crankcase breather. That's the purpose of the system.
Yes, that's rubbish. :)
Firstly, the throttle butterfly shaft will usually be mounted in brass or similar bushes. There really self lubricate.
Secondly, the shaft will be fairly well sealed, into these bushes (air tight in fact) so, no oil will penetrate any way.
Thirdly, the return...
To stop any potential oil mist going all over your engine bay ! ;)
The foam idea will work and realistically, a foam filter will stop more oil than a cotton based one but, it might look a bit.......... well, pony and trap ?!
Can't see why ?!
All the crankcase breather does is allow the by products of combustion, to exit the crank case, via the cylinder bores, usually taking a small amount of oil with it.
Essentially, the car manufacturers plumb this back into the the intake track, to get rid of it easily...
Don't get wound up bud, every forum has the know it all (well, they think they do), who likes to put people down. Plus, if you were worried about fuel economy, you wouldn't want to do 'power' mods, would you ?! ;)
Everyone needs to understand that a production car is always a build with a...
My other half has just sold here 2003 Elise 111S for a black R27 with xenons, folding mirrors and decal delete. Here's isn't arriving until mid to late October though.
What a small world. :)
Only just found this thread and, there certainly are some nice looking cars in here.
Here's some old pics of mine:
And a recent one with her on a dyno:
Re: 197 F1 @ sutton Park
If you're talking about this: http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/cliocup/overview/
It's not a road car so, doesn't count !
Re: 197 F1 @ sutton Park
Oh no it's not. :rasp:
The only reason they're selling them so cheap is, they need to sell all the R27 cars, which has the Cup chassis pack, so that they can sell the Cup chassis pack (which will be around £600) for the 'normal' 197 models.
There is no specific Cup...
Hmmm, not sure if I fancy arcing electrical connections near any petrol fumes ?!
Just go out and buy a proper syphon. You should be able to get one, with a built in hand pump, for a couple of £'s !
Oh, and petrol is very different to water so, you should use a specific petrol/diesel pump...
You've hit the nail on the head, with the last part of your post.
If the road you're on has fairly high camber, you'll get all sorts of issues when accelerating and braking.
You should also check your tyre pressures (most probably your issue, along with the road camber), use the same tyres...
