Sounds like its right by the handbrake and round there so yes it could be the heat shield, Is that a take out job or will it need new bolts and okay the exhaust seems to be hanging okay and not wobbling but i think the best bet is to get it up in the air

When i start my 182 in the morning or night sometimes the stop sign stays on but flickers on off while pressing the brake but once moving then stop sign goes away, Can anyone help?
