I guess so, I remember reading about the Rally of Mexico where the cars are running high in the mountains in hot temperatures and the cars loose something like 60bhp compared to sea level.. Rob

MPG!!! That does sound excessive but depends how you drive it aswell, there is no mention to this.. Heater could be the matrix, git of a job as it means the dash out, could be a blockage or something that only happens when you allow the water through the matrix..

I do it on downshifts...makes for a smoother change when you have it perfected and the revs match...hence why most paddle shift boxes do it themselves so you dont get thrown through the windscreen all the time..Upshifts I am not sure there is much benefit as the revs will drop for the next...

Exactly, how many Sjyline for example and highly tuned cars give a puff of smoke when changing gears at very high revs...if black it is just unburnt fuel.. I have seen a Skyline set up perfectly that after 1/2 on the track had turned that bumper about the exhaust almost black..nothing to worry...
