hi pepsi,the reason why they are hinged is that they are designed to absorb any impact progresivley ,rather than just having your head slam into the pad. it also gives a wider range of adjustment.

the 1.2 8v engine in these is a pretty reliable lump. main things to look for are cam belt change etc.they respond well to an oil change (smoother running). check the rear springs, as they are prone to breaking.rattling sunroofs are an easy fix as a modified catch is available,and expect a few...

any dci clio is a good buy.sweet engines,decent handling and they can be tweaked for not a lot of money. good reliability record as well. a cracking little car.:star:
have just driven one of these ,hot of the transporter. first impressions are that the engine is a gem.:) good smooth pulling power,fair mid range. couldnt push it too hard as its only done 8 miles.but with a few miles under the wheels,should loosen up nicely. suspension still looks too tall...
a few years ago my wife sustained bad whip lash from some t**t in a proton hitting her,which rammed her into the car in front, shes still not right now,but the compo chq made her smile. feel sorry for ya,but the car can be mended/replaced,your health is more important!!!!
saw it happen in the race,thought"holy s**t,hes a gonner!!".so glad that the injuries arent believed to be serious.all credit to the people who build those things. ncap 10*+ imo.
