I would reserve judgement until you see the pics. First impressions are that it is not as quick off the line as the 172 but in gear it certainly has more pull. Have to say that the handling is a lot tighter as well. Here is a bit of info for you...

The successor to the 172 is.... A Honda Prelude Type S. Picked it up last night. Well impressed with it. Sounds superb.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. My renewal notice came through and it wasnt quite as cheap as I had hoped to I hopped on the internet and did a fresh quote which worked out about 150 quid cheaper!

I agree about the wheels and the colour but the performance gain will be neglible and I personally would miss things like abs, climate control, cd etc. Still, I look forward to seeing it! When do you get it? How are you anyway mate? Not spoken or seen you for so long.

Just an Elise 111S with uprated throttle bodies. (apparently). Seems bloody quick for a Lotus though.
