Thanks mate! I like the SX kit. I think it makes the car look better, but each to their own. Im thinking about the subtle spoiler from K-Tec but thats a bit down the road for now.
Did you get longer wheel nuts when you got the spacers??
Yeah mate, the handling is much much better now. I can push harder into corners now and shes got so much more grip its unreal. Theres less lean into corners and she doesnt dive under braking anymore. The only downside is a slight increase in harshness over large bumps. Highly recommended...
Thats awful to hear. Glad all are ok and hopefully nobody is seriously injured or worse on the roads over the next few days. Take it easy out there folks. Cars can be repaired/replaced. Lives cant.
Thanks! Im really happy with the way she turned out. I chose 30mm because the car is in daily use and I have to contend with lots of speed ramps  Ive been told that coilovers give an overly harsh ride and with an already dodgy back, I needed to keep as much of the original comfort as...
Its deffo the window regulator. Same thing happened on my Audi A3 and also on the old mans Modus. Check and see if GSF do the regs for your car, alternatively the ones on eBay should do the trick.
Well, it was dry enough today to be able to wash the car and take some pics. Unfortunately the batteries in my camera died so I had to use my phone camera. Let me know what you think now shes had a bit of time to settle since fitting the lowering springs. They are 30mm Eibach Pro springs by...
I just bought a can of brake caliper paint in Halfrauds. Was less that 5 euro IIRC.
Oh, mine was jacked up too, on a ramp in fact as we were fitting the lowering springs. I meant to say you can use a heat gun to warm the metal of the calipers, as long as you are careful not to dwell on one...
It wont fit a standard Mk3 as the rear quarters are fatter to accommodate the wider track. Prima Racing do replica kits for the 1.2 versions and the wider arched 1.4 and up.
Mate, just did my own recently. Big tip I can give you is paint them while they are warm as the heat will help the paint spread evenly. And of course dry that bit quicker too!! You need at least 2 coats for a good look depending on the colour you use. 3 coats would be better. Will be...
I was actually gonna knock on your window and ask you about the lowered suspension cos I wanted pointers etc lol. I will be there myself this year again! I will make a point of coming over to you for a chat and to compare notes. Mines down 30mm on Eibachs and Im loving it ;)
I dont believe it!! Thats actually my old Mk3 sitting next to you at FCS!!!! She was a 1.4 with the SX kit but I never got round to doing any mods on her cos of an ongoing problem with the engine management and emissions systems. I now have a Volcano Red 1.4 with an SX kit!!
I love your car...
Ive only got stickers from the site where Im the Renault moderator, www.frenchcarsireland.com Will be adding the ClioSport sticker as soon as it arrives in the post :D
Check your alternator belts for damage or wear if not already done so. Also check your power steering pump and reservoir for leaks. Possibility that the pump has failed.
Welcome along! I love those cars, got to drive one about 6 months ago, and very nearly sold my soul to buy one in October. Sadly, sense prevailed and I realised I just couldnt afford it
Best of luck with yours! What colour is she?
Oh yes, forgot to say, go for the Contintental Sport Contact 2 or 3 if you can afford them. Pricey but very much worth it. Great grip levels in the wet and dry and have actually improved since I lowered my Mk3 :D
Side on, it looks ok, but I wanna see more pics from the front to get the shape of the headlights. I like the foglight part of the bumper, reminds me of the Megane 225 and 197. Supposed to have improved driving dynamics but still looks far too high, and deffo needs lowering.
I used to have an Etruscan Red Renault 19 RSi. I loved that car and the colour and I wish it were available now still. I also loved the Boreal Silver Mk2 Clio I used to have. If I could pick a colour for a 197 it would be either of them to be honest. Although, I must admit to liking Black...
