4 Things
1. The tyres as they start to wear down the optimum grip also decreases and the car will suffer a bit more with torque steer.
2. The roads are bad at the moment with ice, Grit salt and water not to mention the diabolical state or repair the roads are in!
3. T/C- ESP, Mine seems to...
You need to remember how the car acts under braking/ accelerating etc also what sort of setup the car has LSD etc etc,
For a FWD car to stop it spinning you need to do 1 of 2 things, Either get traction on the back or Correct the steering direction. Ideally both.
By hitting the brakes you...
I Have fortunately never spun a car in the 6 years I have been driving, I've got it out of shape on numerous occasions, Mainly underbraking if something unexpected happens and I've over react with the brakes or not reading road correctly but always managed to get it back in .(Looks for wood and...
I have beaten 330's to 100 but then they change to 4th and start to dissappear. 18's will look PIMP but IMO they will ruin the ride. Stick with the std rims, Personally i think they suit the car well
I bought the Decat from someone on CS for £70 and the Itg is about £40
The only reason im getting the inlet done so cheap is because the matey who is doing it is currently doing £1200's worth of work on another cylinder head/ manifoild for me. So he said he would do it as a favour to a good...
The difference in performance is minimal and can easily be outweighed with a good driver.
I have a full fat 172, pick up my decat tonight I have a itg filter and will be getting the inlet matched to give it a little more edge, these mods will cost me less than £150 and should free up a few more...
Mine feels lumpy and like its miss firing ever so slightly at idle but the needle doesnt seem to move about, Sits nicely on 900 rpm (Give or take 50 Rpm, If lights CC Heated window etc are on) Its just the way they are.
It Idles a 15OO RPM when you first start it up and its really cold but as...
It shouldn't cause an Mot problem as long as its not loose or hanging off the car, If the shield has come completely off then it should be fine, but it wont last much longer before the rust gets to the actual cat and it starts blowing.
Mate, TBH you don't need to replace discs every time you change the pads! as stated above as long as they are within the tolerance width for the disc then they will be alright. sometimes you get a lip on the disc but the lip can be ground down (for very little money) Also I would be suprised if...
you CAN tow on the motorway but there are rules.
Max speed is 50 mph for towing another motor vehicle
You can only use lanes 1 & 2 so no outside lane.
The basic controls of the vehicle must be working,
so brakes, lights, indicators, steering, etc
when you say there is no interior, the car...
Sounds like a fuse mate!
If you look in your manual it will show you where the fuses are and which ones do what, Check to see if they are blown ad replace accordingly
Disc's will always rust, Just drive the car regular Mine are rusted to fook if I leave it for a week get that nice grinding sound for the first couple of miles. I dont think the rust is causing your pads to ware out quickly I would say thats its more to do with being over enthusiastic with the...
Lol, I can imagine they exchange heads and Inlets together but as said above they surely cnt do just inlets what will they be matched to, Unless they are just selling inlets which have been opened up rather than matched??
I would proabably start it with a drill and sanding bit/detail sander using a dremmel to do the fiddly bits then move to some very fine paper and finish by hand and good old autosol. I will probably do it in the summer when I have the inlet and plenum matched, I also want paint the cover the...
Ok cheers guys,
The sunbeam is going for a respray next winter, so its not all bad but still wanted it to look as good as possible for the summer, Im guessing that a similar routine (i.e wash, clay and polish) should bring it up looking good for the summer.
lol me too!!
Think I will wax it then to help protect it over the next couple of months then at the beginning of the summer, do it again and get a polymer sealant on it. I clean the car often but I haven't waxed it, so every 6 months will be a huge improvement on never in the last 3 years lol...
So what would you recomend then for a good finish and some protected paint work, I use my car as my everyday run around its not a showcar but I like it to look smart, And dont mind spending a bit of time doing a real good job on it every now and then, I clean often and it usually takes a good...
