Took my 172 for its MOT last week, knew a few things needed doing, handbrake on one side, maybe some new pads wipers etc, light stuff.... anyways they have called back today, with a bill of £517.00 !!!! This included a service.... I can not believe they did not warn me prior that the bill would...
Kinda feel sorry for you here mate, HOWEVER looking at those pictures im susrprised you handed over so much money without checking out those exhaust's they are clearly not right... The last car i bought from a dealers was worth almost 9k and I spent an hour going over it

Alot of the corsa clan saying complete waste of money and 'are they even that good' etc etc
Looks clean mind !
197 for me
Personally id not want to spend in excess of 8 grand on a Clio, which a) isnt brand new or b) isnt the latest model
just my opinion, £9,000 is alot of money for a 3 year old Clio regardless of mileage
Anyone experienced problems of this nature with a 1*2?
When cornering (especially to the right) car seems to lunge into a tighter right turn ever so slightly with no change in steering direction from myself??
Bit wary of driving at the moment, going for MOT shortly, maybe this will pick it...
The standard of driving by the majority of women drivers in this country, is nothing short of apalling
no indicators, poor lane control.... really no surprise though
One thing you have mentioned, its taking 30% to finance this car, if insurance is say '2k', are you sure you want to plug this much money into what really is just a 'car'
Maybe waiting 18 months or so will seem such a good idea in hindsight. Don't get me wrong, I was 22 when I bought my 172...
Funny you should say this, I walked into renault for the exact same quote, for a backbox and got back to me with 144 plus another 25 quid for the hangers. Thought sod it, so bought a full stainless magnex from batman from here, for 125 quid, fitted for 30 at a local garage, job done!
''I brought this car for my partner as a suprize but she can't afford the insurance on it so sadly it has to go even though she is gutted about it.''
This bit really worries me....
HIC HertsInsuranceConsultants
absolutely fantastic company, sadly for me they are who I am having my claim processed through and im staying away from them until it has been resolved, top bunch of people... all into their motor's will pretty much match any reasonable quote
790 quid from Admiral, oh well will have to do... its a joke on direct debit though, No doubt i will have to stump up a 180 quid deposit for 25% of the premium
Need insurance on my 172 as of tomorrow, but my 2ncb are on hold as some prick hit my 172 whilst the mrs was driving it 6 months ago, claim still not resolved so im down to zero no claims. I was wondering.... who are the younger 1*2 drivers with, im 23... no points garaged at night, no...
Well i think this is what I need to replace, im getting the hanger for the magnex, but this will need to attach onto the standard OE one, which has came off.... dont have the old one, came off whilst car was in motion
Wicked Cheers guys, think I need some OE part from Renault though as the hanger has completely snapped off the hull of the car near the spare wheel well
Im buying a catback Magnex exhaust from someone off here
I want to know if I can fit it inside the car to transport to a garage to
get it fitted.....
Did'nt think I worded it that badly =)
Yes mate, all the same
oh and whoever sold you this needs a reality check, he could of flogged it for way more, Quicky's actually hold their value pretty decently
Interesting discussions in here
Ive owned 4 106GTi's tuned to varying degree's and im not in ownership of my 1st ph2 172, and i can say there isn't alot really between them.
First of all the 172 is quicker hands down, yes up to 30, 100 or 130 whatever, however id say the GTi handles that...
Exhaust and Car are now 'seperated'
LOL
Going to have to get a solution asap, looks good Rich, but dont know if I can wait anything more than a couple of days now :-(
REALLY don't want to go with the powerflow route, looks like im going to have to pay renault over the odd's, unless I can souce...
